This is my first thread, and I'm hoping that it's appropriate, what with it being, essentially, nothing but a link. But, my lord, this made me laugh like a complete lunatic - and if you spent/are spending your teens ploughing through the fantasy shelves of your local library or bookshop, then you too may wince with recognition:

Pithy, and all too excruciatingly accurate, imho.
The David Eddings one was particularly incisive, I thought. And the Anne McCaffrey. And Piers Anthony - man, I loved his Xanth books when I was wee, and then gradually, as I developed my critical faculties and started noticing his attitudes towards young girls, I started to feel distinctly queasy about them. And the George RR Martin one made me laugh out loud.
Oh, and the Stephen Donaldson! SPOT on, that one. (I confess, despite wanting to like 'The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant' I found myself paralysed with not-caring about our protagonist, after he [CURSES I CAN'T FIND SPOILER FONT].)
And...well, anyway. See what you think. And if it tickles your funny bone, you might also appreciate MightyGodKing's take on those pick-a-path-to-adventure fighting fantasy books, from back in the day:

[If you've never heard of them, check out the Wikipedia entry.] Although they actually had titles like 'The Warriors of Firetop Mountain' and so forth. But the photoshopped names are SO much better.)
edited to add:
...er, belatedly it strikes me that these links aren't entirely work-safe - some captions contain expletives or sexual references. If that is a problem for you, then, um - don't click the links. 'kay?
