“That was one heck of a meal!” a friend of Kazuo said. “Yeah, it sure was good. The cook is great, now our batteries are reloaded and we can start our intensive training again!” said Kazuo said without patience. “Why are you so into training, I mean, I love archery, but you seem to act as if it’s all about archery in your life!” replied his friend called Hide. “It’s not my whole life; it’s just that I’m very dedicated to it. Those are two things which aren’t the same Hide” Kazuo said. "Hmph... I guess so" Hide admitted. As the class was walking back to the Archery school, Kazuo said goodbye to his father. He wouldn’t see him and his mother and sister in about two days again. Kazuo got used to the routine, 3 days training in the Yu Yan Archery Academy, 4 days relaxing home. He was quite happy; his father came back, his father was proud; he was on his way to become the best Yu Yan Archer and he just ate delicious food. Still there was something bothering the young black-haired boy. He just didn’t find out what. When the boys arrived at the Archery Academy, some stayed outside, and some went inside. Kazuo went inside, to his sleeping room and placed his notebook on his bed. There were about twenty beds per room and all beds were separated by red see-through curtains. Yet the space between the see-through curtains was very big. His room was decorated beautifully with reds and golds and a big picture of the Fire Lord hang above his bed. Kazuo went outside again, to play for a while, with his friends. He wanted to forget the bad feeling in his stomach, as if he did something wrong. So Kazuo went outside and decided to go to the Public Archery Range, where he met some people who were interested in the sport, but didn’t practice it. It gave him a good feeling most of the time. Once being outside Kazuo saw a girl, a teenager with a bow and more or less dozen arrows and a few knives. It was as if his gut was turned inside out! The girl! The black hair and the outfit! It was the girl he saw at the Prison Camp nearby. His felling seemed to get worse, but anger was mixed inside it as well. He saw her doing her work. The four arrows weren’t aimed that well, but they were fast. With some training she could become more skilled, Kazuo thought. Suddenly the girl threw her knive at the target! It hit a bulls-eye! As if a someone took over her, she just suddenly hit a bulls-eye! Kazuo walked to her, to comment her about what she had achieved. His bad feelings disappeared as quickly as he saw her skill. After all, Kazuo was used to complimenting people who tried their best at hitting the target. As he walked towards her, she turned around. Her eyes widened as she saw him. Then suddenly those amber eyes turned into little flashing eyes. “That was incredible! You hit a bulls-eye, very impressing!” Kazuo said as if it equaled the work of great generals who conquered lands with pride. But it was then that Kazuo understood the look on her face. How could I be so stupid, this girl, she betrayed the Fire Lord. At least, that looked like it. Kazuo felt anger, but his sadness won the battle, and it was easy to read it from his face. It was as if the girl felt sympathy for the little boy. If people didn’t know better, they would think he was her little brother. “Thank you” she said shyly, “I’m Kagoshi.” Kazuo saw her face that softened. He felt better by looking at friendly amber eyes instead of flashing ones. “Nice to meet you, I’m Kazuo” he said while he bowed for her. She was older, so traitor or no traitor, he had to show her respect. (no, this is not Hide from The Headband, I figured out there must be more Hides )

Nashk listened to Hisae's words ring in his ears. They were soft and quiet, as if spoken from across a field. Her eyes had a far away look to them, misted in a fog of memories.
Nashk let his hand hang awkwardly in the air, Hisae was obviously not going to shake it. Sheepishly Nashk smiled, letting his hand fall to his side.
"Hisae eh? Nice name."
Nashk turned back toward the crowd of prisoners, listening to their sullen conversations. With a flash Nashk remembered his plans, statistics rolling over his eyes.
"Such wasted energy... sitting their sulking in their sadness. Sometimes I believe they should just forget about their problems and do something productive...." Nashks muttered slightly.
"Don't you agree Hisae?"
Nashk sighed, it would take a long while for any of these prisoners to even consider a proactive escape strategy.
Then Nashk turned back to wards Hisae, her face was full of the same sadness, if not sadder than the rest of the prisoners. However impatience nashk felt, would have to wait. He had a Friend in need.
One last glance around the compound revealed no one else was even near Hisae, she was alone.
"Say Hisae... Do you not have any Friends or family here?" Nashk felt a pang of guilt, he had just asked a sensitive question. He was from the military, Friends was dangerous. Friends bring nothing but despair on the battlefield.
In his mind, Nashk's thoughts wandered to the strange fire nation girl. In a flash the statistics reappeared.
Of course! The fire nation girl. She disliked the war, perhaps she could be persuaded to aid them.... No not so soon. HE would have to befriend her, then test her loyalty to the fire nation.

Hisae was intrigured. This man was a complete stranger, yet he was making friendly talk as though he had always known her. His friendliness was comforting after so many days of sorrow. She didn't respond right away, but liked hearing him talk. She was surprised that he liked her name. Hisae knew the irony; her name meant enduring, whereas she could hardly be described as that. After a moment, after her eyes flickered about her to once again take in her surroundings, she found her voice and said, "I don't think...no...I believe I'm alone." She closed her eyes a moment and wondered whether she could bear the pain much longer. Life had lost its beauty within the towering metal walls in which she was being kept. As she thought, she heard the steady, rhythmic sound of the fire nation soldiers marching around the camp. The afternoon was drawing to a close. (Sorry it's short, I'm exhausted from schoolwork. I hope I have the timeframe right, too. If not I'll edit my post.)

To Kagoshi's suprise, she saw the boy from the camp. Walking over to her, he commented her on her bulls eye. "I'm Kagoshi!" she smiled. "I'm Kazuo," the boy said bowing. She patted him once on the head and, turning around to face the open ground, picked up another knife and a rock. Closing her eyes, she tossed the rock, which landed near a tree. Sighing softly, she grabbed the knife and flicked her wrist. Immediately the knife's tip (which had a leaf at the end) caught fire. She tossed the flaming knife, which landed about five inches from the stone in the sand. "So, why are you over here? It can't just be that your being nice right? I dunno, but I can sense some tension," Kagoshi said, turning around so that her face was a foot away from his. She could see him blushing, and after a second, she truned away, holding her head. " Sorry! Got a little wierd there!"

Nashk looked at Hisae sadly. It must have been hard to be taken from her family. One glance at those hands she constantly tried to hide told him she must have been part of a raid. Unfortunately not many people survive raids.
"I'm sorry, I should have thought before asking such things." Nashk spoke apologetically.
Nashk sat contemplating, everyone in this prison was slowly wasting away. Even Nashk himself who has only been here for a few days, could feel himself wasting away into a blithering mess.
He would have to escape. Thats what he kept hearing inside him. The voice that screams for freedom, the sound that slowly faded every day he sat in shame.
He had done the planning, learn the firenation ways then run free into the cities in an attempt to blend in. Slowly finding a mode of transportation back to the earthkingdom.
Of course this was nearly impossible. In all his time here there had not even been one opportunity to learn anything. Blocking his plans for escape.
Then there was the problem of the other prisoners. He couldn't possible take them all, yet he couldn't just abandon fellow countrymen. IT was quite the conundrum.
He thought he had an answer, he couldn't take everyone. He doubted he could get himself out of this cursed prison. Unless he had outside information.
With a sigh Nashk crouched down to Hisae's level, and whispered gently.
"Say Hisae, what would you think if I said I might, perhaps, maybe, I could come up with a plan to get you out of this prison?"

Hisae looked up. She knew she hadn't heard him wrong; yet in her misery, nothing like escape had ever occured to her.
Again she looked around. There were hundreds of guards along the walls and among the prisoners, still giving her an uneasy feeling. The walls and ground were made purely of metal and were too high to climb, and there were guards at the top. The only way out was the way everyone came in: the large metal gate.
Escape was impossible. Those words meant nothing. And making a plan like that would take a very long time, and most prisoners didn't stay here long enough for that. They all got shipped off...somewhere. She had a narrow escape today, but who knew what tomorrow would bring?
Hisae shook her head. "It's impossible," she said. "Nothing is possible here. They'll just keep us here until they take us away." She said the last sentence in a quieter voice.

(Um what is the time frame for this rp? DOnt want ot confuse anybody.) Nashk listened solemnly, he could feel the hopelessness pouring from her very soul. Her jade eyes stared towards him with the same melancholy sadness he had seen in the faces of all the young soldiers who had lost hope. It wrenched his soul to see that same look in one so young. IT made him feel bitter and angry that the avatar or whatever force out there who kept balance would allow such atrocities. "If you think that way than it really IS impossible." Nashk let that phrase hang in the air, cringing at the hollow tone. He decided the only way he could giver her hope, was proof that his plan would work. However for his plan to work he would need outside help. Nashk couldn't dawdle, every minute wasted left another person carted off to the work camps, or sent to fight his own nation. The enormity of it all disheartened him. He needed help, he couldn,t do this on his own. "Hisae... If you wont believe escape, then at least do not lose hope. I... think..." Nashk quietly looked towards the sky, the faint glow of the setting sun illuminating his face. "Its disheartening to see you this way. However I promise you I will at least attempt an escape. I am an eathbender soldier. If I don't, what would have been the point of leaving my home?" (This sad mood reminded me of this song called Lilium. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ak637qQmWvE Its haunting melody is rather beautiful.)

Cho walked into the Fire Nation Prison and immediately noticed a man and a young woman talking. Cho figured that they must be nice people, but instead of joining their conversation, she just sat near enough to them to hear what they were talking about. She was able to catch a few words, mostly having to do with and escape plan. She would love to be involved in whatever plan they were making, after all, she was probably one of the only waterbenders in the prison and could be of some help. Cho had also heard their names: Hisae and Nashk. Wanting to make friends, Cho approached them, unsure of what to say. "Hello, I'm Cho. I heard you talking about wanting to make an escape plan, and if you are making one, I'd be willing to help. I am a waterbender, and I need to get out of here and find my friend Hayato as soon as possible."

Hisae shook her head. The guards were close by, and this fortress seemed inpenetrable.
And this man hadn't been here the day her village was attacked. She remembered seeing one woman try to flee with her child, only to be struck down from behind with lightning. Hisae shuddered at the thought. She did not want to die, and she didn't think any of the fire nation soldiers would tolerate an attempt at escape.
She would rather face slave labor than die that way...although she knew she could just as likely die by staying here.
Hisae began to turn away, and she saw a girl walk towards them. Alarmed at more company, Hisae froze, but she noticed something peculiar; this girl appeared to be water tribe from her appearance, although Hisae had never seen a waterbender in person before. The girl seemed hesitant to speak, but she started talking quickly about how she wanted to be involved in this plan.
"There..." Hisae glanced at the guards patrolling the camp, "There is no...plan...well...."
She found it so difficult to hide her emotions any more. It was driving her nearly insane.
"I'm just afraid to die."

No plan? Hisae you insult me by saying that. Of course I have a plan, it just does not have all the right peices to put in play yet."
Nashk smiled wearily, night was approaching fast. He had not eaten anything in awhile either.
He looks to the newcomer, Cho she had called herself. A waterbender, if the fire nation has a waterbeder that must mean their war efforts have expanded. Not good.
"Well hello Cho, I doubt you will be much help. At least for now."
A another weary smile, increasing hte dark bags forming under his eyes.
"Well, not until you gather some water of course. Are you fed the same disgusting broth as we are?"
Nashk looks at the downcast face of Hisae, more sadness. Not exactly the best shape she could be in. The lack of nourishment was evident on her body.
"We all have our fears, and right now mine is that we will die before at least attempting ot escape. Cant expect anyone else to save us right now."
With a sigh, Nashk lays down onto the floor. It had been a rather Melancholy day.
"Whatever we do, it wont do to work ourselvs to death. I bet the firenation will have us work, work, and work for their war machine. You have heard what they do to those who can fight right? They send you onto the front lines to fight your own allies..."

Hisae was almost intimidated by this man's determination. True, she did not know that they were forced to fight their enemies. But she had other things to worry about, as a lone girl in a prison camp with ruthless guards. This man was older and stronger and had different concerns than she. He wasn't considering how weak she was....
The bell clanged loudly for the evening meal, disrupting her train of thought. Hisae nearly jumped.
"Um..." she said awkwardly. She had spent many days trying to be alone, but all of a sudden this company made her reluctant to move. She was hungry, but it seemed irrelavent at the moment. It would probably be better to head back to her bamboo mat and sleep. Maybe she would dream of home again.
(again, writer's block >< I think it's a sufficient post though)

Kazuo wasn’t used to girls; after all he attended a boy’s school! The only females he knew were his mother, aunt and sister. Of course he saw some other people around trying to hit bulls-eye, but he never met a girl who was interested in Archery or some other warrior skill at all. Apart from my sister, he thought, her role model is Princess Azula and Natsuko wants to join the army one day. Kazuo didn’t know if that was possible at all; he never heard of a female soldier with exception of royalty. That’s quite unfair, he thought. He knew this wasn’t the right time to think about the right of women in the Fire Nation, especially when he caught the last phrases from Kagoshi. She must have noticed him blushing. “No problem, you are right, there is some tension. I just- I beg you pardon- saw you talking to prisoners of the camp where my father is in charge. It seemed as if you were helping them. And I was wondering why? I mean, maybe I got the wrong idea, but didn’t those prisoners bring this on themselves?” Kazuo explained becoming angrier and angrier while explaining. “Kazuo” Kagoshi said calmly, almost whispering, “You don’t really feel that way do you? I mean, you explain me that this is the mistake of those prisoners, but clearly I can feel that you don’t feel this way.” Kazuo didn’t know what to say. He knew she was right, those poor prisoners, not all of them were wrong. Like the man he saw at the prison camp, the man whose eyes were full of death. The man who looked at him as if he didn’t know what hunger was. But what could he say? I oppose the Fire Lord?! I don’t agree with the Fire Lord!? No, he couldn’t say that! That would cause a one way ticket to the jail! That would mean he could never become the best Yu Yan Archer of the world. He didn’t understand how Kagoshi got out of this either. Clearly she was very open about this. What if someone heard them? What if the Fire Lord knew what she was up to; at least what Kazuo thought she was up to. Was she planning on an escape for the prisoners? Could she? Kazuo was confused. “I see you are confused, I don’t blame you. Frankly enough you are just a victim of the propaganda here. But you are also one of the very few who know the truth or at least feel that there is something wrong, isn’t it?” Kagoshi answered whisperingly, breaking the silence as if she could read the face and feelings of Kazuo. Kazuo couldn’t get out of this; he knew that Kagoshi knew the truth of these prisoners. Kazuo was too curious, so he answered: “Yeah, you saw it right.” Kazuo knew this answer would lead him into something he couldn’t get out of, he just felt it. (Sorry for lack of time since 4 weeks ago. It's autumn holiday now, so I'm lucky to post , go for it Sakura!)

Kagoshi said, tossing her hair. "Shouldn't you be somewhere worshipping the Fire Lord and learning about how all he did was for the best?" 'His memory'll need to be wiped,' Kagoshi thought as she reached into her bag. She felt around for a small round thing, and when she found it, she smiled. ' Keep going, keep going, I need to distract him...' She did a couple of backflips, and the last one she landed in a handstand and walked on her hands for a bit. When she collapsed into the dust, she said slowly, " Have you ever been to Cresent Island? Y'know, where Avatar Roku's temple is?" Without waiting for an answer, she stood up and did a few cartwheels before continuing, " I have. My grandpa was a Fire Sage. He showed me something no one could believe. The FN war's history book, written by Fire Lord Sozin."

Nashk sighed staring into the sky, his eyes clouded with fatigue. "Heh, I am most likely causing you discomfort right? Im sincerely sorry for that, but what can you do in these circumstances?"
He lay in the akward silence waiting for a responce, hearing none he sighed. The enourmity of his taks was beggining to dawn on him.
So slowly he began to hum to calm him, a simple little tune about two lovers in a cave. It was a nice melody one that always helped him sleep.
"Sorry, not much ot work with. XD)
