More scary that some of us are old enough to drink now... Whats funny for as long as I've been a member here I've been able to drink. I actually have a a large amount of alcohol in my fridge and cabinets. Whats scary for me is, I'm coming up very quickly on 30. I'll be 27 next month. yep, unlike myself, you guys have grown a lot but even ole Gran has changed over the last 5 years... and mentioning that some are now old enough to drink - not to mention that we actually have a DH grand baby now....5 years is a long time when things change rapidly. congrats gran. I'm actually thankful I don't have a child yet. Life is currently a bit uncertain for me. Sadly the get married and have kids thing has me a bit bothered. I've been attending too many weddings. That and closing in on 30 helps force home the idea that need to hurry up. Because life just won't wait around like you thought it would at 18-21. LOL, I am not a Grandmother IRL just yet. But one of the more prolific posters from back then had a little girl. And that little girl is already aiming for the 2nd birthday! In any case, do not feel rushed to get married. You will never find a satisfactory relationship if yo are not at ease with just yourself.

I was an obnoxious, abrasive, rude, 17 year old teenage boy, now I'm an obnoxious, slightly less rude but still pretty abrasive 23 year old adult. A lot of other stuff has changed with my perspective on life though, nothing anyone on the internet would be interested in hearing about but it makes me look back at 17 year old me and cringe sometimes. I'm sure in a few years I'll look back at me now and shake my head at some things too, such is the progression of life. Still was the coolest admin here though. Deal with it. EDIT - Also I think this is my first post in a harem thread. Says the man who was once pink Grandi you still rocky your goatee or did you shave it off? Whats funny for as long as I've been a member here I've been able to drink. I actually have a a large amount of alcohol in my fridge and cabinets. Don't worry no prospects right now, so no worries there. Also you have to be more specific I mean who knows you kids could just be quick on baby making

Well, I'm glad to now that the harem is still there and kickin, at least somewhat. Graduated to casual drinkin spot maybe. JK Gosh do I miss the glory days... seems so much different 5 years ago... being in college, serious girlfriends and bills.... can it really change that much? Unfortunately, yes. My 21st birthday was about 2 weeks ago and I just went to Vegas. haha... kind of weird. I was 14 when I joined DH. lol BB... I have to be careful because my boyfriend calls me his wife sometimes because my mom says we're like a married couple, and I have developed a habit of calling him my husband. Anymore I catch myself going "my husband and I" and people go "aren't you like... a teenager?"

I was fourteen when I joined this place, and now I'm twenty-one. I went from being the girl who was afraid to talk about her Avatar addiction off the internet to driving a flying bison. I was a kid with no idea what I was going to do with my life, and thought she lost everything when she couldn't play soccer. And now I'm going out to start what will hopefully be an amazing career working for the only fandom I love more than Avatar. It's amazing how things change.

Do you mind it I ask what fandom you'll be working, Seabiscuit? Time does have a way of changing things. I can't believe I'm thirty now! I feel so much older now that my twenties are gone. In the past couple of years so much has changed: a twenty-year-long friendship was lost, new friendships were made, and in a couple of months I'll be moving to Southern California, and will hopefully be able to try and get into voice acting, which I've wanted to do since I was little and found out that there were actually real people voicing all the cartoons I loved to watch. I'm hoping it works out! Also, o hai, everyone! Mind if I join? I know I'm not a consistent poster, but the harem has always looked fun, and it seems to be the place where most of the action is lately.

Hehe she turned 31 months old yesterday, and took her first steps last night on Thanksgiving! Hi everyone Ah, talking about my grand baby! Looks like she is having a ball! ^_^ She LOVED feeding those goats! Even though she ate half the carrots herself she thought it was hilarious feeding them, and there was also a baby zebra she got to feed xD

I was kind of hopeing that Korra would bring in some of that teenage spark from some of the slightly younger crowd. Would have been cool to mingle with some straight Korra fans, while us veterans gave them some old-school avatar to sink into. Alas, that was probably a bit of a pipe dream. Yet, even I wasn't seriously a fan till the last episode of season 1 on TLA.... so maybe Season 2 of Korra will see some steam pick up on that end.

I think I'm just going to talk to myself here for a bit. I first joined DH in late 2007 when I was a sophomore in high school and haven't been too active in years. And now I'm a junior in college. Geesh, time flew! I was talking to someone about Avatar the other day and told her about how crazy intense I was about the show and this forum back in the day. It seems silly now that I was so worked up about the show for such a long time. But it was fun. So where has life taken me since I last talked to most of you? I'm a junior in a small liberal arts school far up in rural northern New York. Just how rural you ask? Well we have a large Amish population in town as well as a commune on a large farm. Most of the stores sell nothing but tractors. But the school is very lively and a mix of hippies and preppy kids. I played varsity field hockey for my first two years, but because of a chronic injury, I had to stop. Now I'm playing ultimate frisbee! A much different environment haha. I'm double majoring in math and geophysics - I've gotten super into glaciology and volcanology lately and am hoping to study subglacial volcanoes for my senior thesis. Just found out that senior year I'll be living in a townhouse with five of my girlfriends which is wonderful news! My favorite part of school is the free on campus music venue that brings in small bands once a week. There's a tiny stage and everyone crowds around it and dances their faces off. I fell in love for real for the first time last year and had my heart broken. Just realized this year that I like Chinese food. I let my friend cut my hair the other night and probably will never pay for another haircut again. This is a weird thing to post, I know. It's bizarre that I considered a good number of people here real friends for a period of time and now I'm sort of grown up and you all know nothing about me. I don't even know if I told you guys my real name or if any of you know what I look like. I'm sorry, I'm having a moment here. I've been freaking out about growing up recently and lots of memories have been coming up from random places. Love you all. I know this is super odd and random but I swear I remember seeing your name on here years ago! I joined this forum when I was like 13 or 14, so young, lol. But I've also grown up. (19 yrs and heading to college in the fall.) Haven't been active in years either. And I don't see anyone I remember but yeah, it's been years, people move on. :c Pretty sure we never knew eachother back then but i'm just kinda happy to see a name of someone I remember. But anyways, having too many flashbacks about this place. Avatar will always be a big part of my life!

Hopefully if things pick up a bit during Book 2, some of you guys that were not here in the old days can be part of a site wide happening. Gosh I miss those days. I would always come home from high school and then stay on for hours constantly refreshing the page to see if someone replied to me. (My parents always got mad, I didn't have my own computer then) Now I have three computers, work, and college theatre stuff. Ah well... growing up kinda sucks some times.

Haha yes Recca your name is definitely familiar! It's so weird that one of my bizarre stages in life is still documented on the internet and that I shared it with so many people.
Ahhhh my parents and brother used to get so mad at me too! I never told any of them about DH either until after the craziness was over or near the end of it all. I made up loads of excuses about what I was doing and minimize the screen if anyone walked in. I think the worst of it was when there was Distant Horizon Survivor or something and we had to go online at certain times. So many fights about computer usage......
