I'm not sure if I've posted this before but this site has a ton of tutorials. Admittedly, you'll have to do a bit of sifting to find the one you want, but it's worth it.

^ ooh! Wow, thanks, Zink =] I found some ones I really like o.o
And for CS3 here are some new things: - you can do animation IN Photoshop instead of going to Imageready - toolbars are more condensed, giving more work space - couple of new blending options - some "smart" tools - a disappointing icon (compared to CS2)

^I have CS3 and I like it a lot. It's pretty awesome; and has what you just said. Though I am a bit disappointed at the square and bland "PS" icon but whatever. XD
I have at least 4 pages of tutorials at LJ I've found which have TONS of tutorials; but I'm kind of copying my one post from this one thread to another; soooo I'll copy and paste the links to the tutorials later. XD

^ NEW BLENDING OPTIONS?! *drools* Akash: That site is highly ranked on my "Favorites" list; I'm glad you like it. @cat: That sounds fairly awesome. @all of you: I just discovered a tool to put Curves to shame. Go to Image-->Adjustments-->Variation. It does the bulky coloring that takes a half hour to do by hand in seconds and what's more, then lets you play around with it some more. It's fabulous if the coloring in your base is predominantly one color. Use it's awesomeness, I beg of you.

^You used the tutorial I showed you to fix the dark colors, huh? Variation is awesome, its how I fix coloring and lighting in my icons now. ;D

Yeah, the CS3 icon is very bland >.< I think anyone who has photoshop or something could do that themselves. I need some help, though =] I don't know what to add to this layout's head image (everything above the empty grey rectangle at the bottom), or leave it as is: i14.tinypic.com/2rqn39z.jpg

I would leave it. It's gorgeous the way it is and if you add too much it will look crowded. If anyone wants, here's a site that has tutorials for coloring pics and such on Photoshop. There's also some stuff on drawing in general. neondragonart.com/dp/tutorials/

^Because the ogeneral board is filled with tons of spam? >_<
But on the topic of Photoshop; I don't think I've used it since last weekend. *le gasp* But I found this awesome icon tutorial to learn how to do this cool effect in an icon and I'm going to try it tomorrow. ;D I've got some other tutorials I've found; I'll post them tomorrow when I get my internet back; and have acess to my Photoshop.
Hopefully I'll finish my graphic requests too; that were requested....weeks ago. <_>

Awesome thread. Can it be stickied somewhere? I have been using photochop for eons, and now have CS2 (the suite).
What blew me away is I had never picked up Illustrator before buying the suite. Vectors! Never knew. I work with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) everyday. I live and breath vector geometry for my job. Let me tell you, if you can pick up and learn Illustrator you could do some amazing stuff with it. I have been playing with vectorizing Avatar screenshots to make them super clear. If I EVER get one done, I'll post it.
I'm definitely a PS n00b, only used it when I needed something. If I ever get time (laff) I want to be able to do more.
