Hello, all. Godhunter forced suggested I be the one to write this, so I thought I might as well.
As you all know, Avatar: the Last Airbender ended this evening. I myself find it very bittersweet. I'm sure a lot of you do as well. Still, I'm glad we're all happy with each other.
This leads me to my point.
Just because the series is over does NOT mean Distant Horizons is over. The staff has discussed it heavily within the impending few months and many of us (including myself) have decided to stick around. After all, the fandom isn't over yet. We've got a movie coming, and fanfiction and fanart will continue to pop up everywhere. Sure, the place will probably slow down a bit, but we know that the true fans will continue to chat for sometime. After all, we've all made very good friends here - why let it stop there.
So to answer your questions, this place isn't shutting down any time soon. I've made some of my best friends here, and I want to continue discussing till I run out of stuff to talk about! I hope you guys do as well.
And to those who don't stick around, thanks for being such an avid part of the fandom. We love an appreciate your willingness to be involved.
I don't want to rattle on, because long threads can be tedious, so let me just finish by saying how happy everyone on the staff is to see this place grow to the size it is and to see so many people enjoying the fandom as much as we do. We're going to continue to strive to do things everyone enjoys, and we want to live the fandom as long as possible.
Anyway, I guess that's all that needs to be said.
Friends for a Lifetime!
