Just corrected the spelling of his Fire Lordship's name As for the question...it certainly doesn't look like he does, what with the burning and banishing and telling him he was lucky to be born. But I guess he could surprise us in the end. Ozai: *butt seriously kicked by Aang* "I once felt as you do...but I lacked the courage to turn against everything we were brought up to believe in and help to bring peace to the world. You are a far stronger man that I, my son..." Zuko: "Father..." Ozai: *dies* Zuko: *weeps because he's not afraid to (that's how strong he is)* ...or maybe not...

*laughs hysterically* ...No. If Ozai loves Zuko, he wouldn't have burned and banished him and he certainly wouldn't have tried TWICE to kill him.

I don't know, he possibly COULD love Zuko.
The thing is, with people like Ozai and Azula, who are obviously mentally and emotionally twisted, it's very difficult to tell for sure how the feel about anything, if at all.
It's possible that Ozai loves Zuko. There are abusive parents that beat their kids so terribly that they almost kill them, but when social services takes them away, they fight tooth and nail to try to get them back. Being an abusive parent or spouse isn't a lack of love, that's what makes it so difficult to understand why some of these people do the things they do.
So arguably, one could say Ozai does love Zuko, and that he genuinely believed burning and banishing Zuko was the only way to straighten out his wayward son. He could just be a total wackjob.
But on the other hand, he might really not love Zuko at all.
The series hasn't provided enough evidence for us to make a clear judgment, and I doubt they ever will since it doesn't really affect what he's already done...

What Ozai loves is his expectations of Zuko as the perfect prince, an heir to the throne who will live up to his legacy. That's why he went so far to "toughen up" Zuko by burning and banishing him, and that's why he accepted him so eagerly when he believed that Zuko had become the ferocious killer prince he wanted him to be.
But when Zuko came out and showed him that he was not the kind of prince Ozai had wanted, and never will be, Ozai was quick to turn against his own son and tried to murder him with lightning. Trust me, Ozai only loves the idea of his perfect son, but not the real son that he has.

Only if setting your son's face on fire is a way of saying "I love you" in the Fire Nation? Maybe it is? Who knows?

. . . But in all seriousness: No. No he doesn't. There are other ways of disciplining your boy if he speaks out in your meeting with your workers/employers besides burning him and kicking him out. If Ozai truley loved Zuko, he would have simply asked Zuko to remain silent until after the meeting was over and then saying something like: "I understand you mean well, but do remember that you don't interrupt a general or me when we are talking." ~ Sorry, spoilers and screenshot removed.

Exactly, does this look like the face of a kind loving father? I think not, Ozai hates zuko because he has picked a favorite out of his kids and that would of course be Azula. He spoiled Azula rotten and treated Zuko like he was a piece of s***. ~ quoted spoiler removed.
