This kind of insolence will not be allowed in my regime. Would you kindly remind me when your regime shall begin so that I will be able to move to Mars?

I wanna name my future son, Courtney. *raises eyebrow* Y'know, that's not such an unmanly name. There's a football player out there named Courtney Taylor, he's pretty manly. Besides, I <3 the name Courtney ^_~

^Hey.....
I know a lot of people probably said "God shut up SM" after that "some people should not be allowed to procreate/copulate" speech on the rant thread,
but face it,
a lot of people can't be having kids the way they act.
Like naming your kids these names.
I mean, naming your kids "Jakwanda" is one thing,
but naming your kid a sentence,
is seriously mentally challenged.
OH THE IRONY!
I'm watching more bad parents on Dr. Phil right now!
Basically, in my regime as Supreme Dictatoress Chancelloress of the Western Hemisphere, I'm trying to "correct" the mistakes of the past, and reforming it for the future!!

And here we are, yet AGAIN a couple of parents choose to name their child some dumb@$$ name: news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080724/ap_on_re_au_an/new_zealand_bizarre_namesThis was so stupid, that the court claimed custody of the kid so that they could rename the child to a more sensible name. It's pretty coincidental, because the last thread I made of a case like this, the parents were from New Zealand. So are these. Coincidence, or phenomena? Or, parents having a loss of sense. Save those names for screennames and forums, parents. -.- Look up for names online! At least, that's what I would do if I had/adopted children, if I couldn't think of a good name.

Aw. I wanted to name my kid Captain Hatred. But seriously, how dumb does it get? I couldn't name my kid something so bad if I tried.

Theres a guy in iraq names sh!thead Pronounced sh it eed Someone in the US was named that too. Instead it was pronounced SHUH-THEED. Turns out that's an urban legend. Like gators in the new york sewers or drinking pop rocks and coke will make your stomach explode. However, I was curious about the twin brothers named LeMonjello and O'Ranjello... I've also heard of dumb names like Abcde (pronouced Ah- bee-se-dee) and Vasoline (pronouced Vah-so-lyn)

I know of two people IRL, I don't know them personally, they are twins. One is named Sodom, the other is named Gomorrah.... I sh!t you not. Also, one of my friends has a relative named (sigh edits) V*gina...only it is pronounced Vah-gin-aye. I weep for humanity. EDIT: WHAT? I can't say V@gina?! WTH mods? Its a bloody body part for christ sake!

V@gina is just terrible. Why don't they just change their name if it's so embarrassing?

^ I really have no idea, I have never spoken to her face to face. I would prolly break down into a fit of giggles if i did. XP My only guess is, since the emphasis is on different syllables then it is harder to notice, easier to stomach? *shrugs* Still sounds sleezy either way though.

I've also heard of dumb names like Abcde (pronouced Ah- bee-se-dee) and Vasoline (pronouced Vah-so-lyn) Dude I heard of my teacher talking about all of these names. Are you sure they're all just urban legends? -_- (Time for scopes.com) And like everyone else here, I'd like to name my kid an interesting and/or rare name. I'd would primarily like to name my kid(s) (if I ever have the nerve to have them in the future), nature-based names, like "Autumn", and "River", or "Raven", or "Willow." They're all names that are based off of real things, but they're pretty and furthermore, PRACTICAL. Where did this trend come from? Did it start when people started naming their kids after cities and countries and continents (not that all of them are bad names. I think a name like "Sydney" or "Asia" or "India" is tolerable. "China"? Meeeeeeeeh.... You get to that point, you mind as well name your child "Kuala Lumpur", and that is ironic because my friend's gf is named "Malaysia". Frankly, I'd just stick to naming my pets after locations. It's, cute.) And, even though they're all part of every baby name book now, I'd never name my kid an American English name, primarily those that are used in the Black American community. Not only does a name like "Chameeka" has no meaning, there are five ways to spell it! I can't even handle "Britany", since their are about ten ways to spell it now! And, it's not even traditional. People didn't name their kids these names in the fifties, sixties, or even early seventies. This started like, twenty or thirty years ago. But enough about that. If you're going to name your kid after a reproductive organ, there has to be something wrong with your little head. You mind as well name your kid "Fock" or "P*nis". Naming your kid isn't suppose to be "fun" or "silly" or suppose to be reflection on your obvious stupidity. Naming your kid is suppose to be something meaningful, and the meaning of that name is suppose to reflect the outlook you have your child's future, or how you feel about him or her. At the least, a name usually reflects the parents' religious/cultural influence. (And after saying that, now I understand why my family gave me the bland name that I have now. Yay! Revelation!) Seriously. Yeah. That's my rant. (And, if your name happens to be a name described above, I'm sorry.)

However, I was curious about the twin brothers named LeMonjello and O'Ranjello... heh..i heard about them. their mom had to eat lemon and orange jello for like a week before the pregnancy so named them that. you know, i bet if those two began going to my school, it wouldn't be noticed so quickly because i go to schools with sha'liquas and stuff. there are two twins at my school named LaWanda and ShaWanda. Their mother's name? Wanda. There was a girl named Sheronica who's mother's name is Veronica. That wasn't as bad. according to ripley's, there was a guy named Abcdefghi...(i can't remember what letter is stopped on), but ripley's isn't always 100% accurate so... oh and i don't like the name malaysia. that's probably because my family is FROM there, but imagine naming someone america (oh wait..>P). but i do have a cousin in england who's name is Regina, but it's pronounced "ruh-GI-nuh", sounding quite like v*gina w/ an r in front of it...-_-

Yeah. America Ferrera anyone? Yeah there are some nice location names to name a kid, like Asia, India, Kenya. But, yeah. I wouldn't name my kid "Canada" ("Kaneda" maybe, but not "Canada") or "Japan", or "United Arab Emirates" (you'd dumb it down to "Unaremira" or somethin ). I have a cousin (or two. I dunno) named Regina. But that's a normal name. Or, do you mean that the "g" in "GI" is more like "g" as in "guy"? Yeah. Then that's a problem.
