I never usually notice the soundtrack - which I like because I think it should just enhance it and not be consciously noticed - but there were a couple times that the songs just stuck out too much. For the actors, I thought Malin Ackerman and Matthew Goode were the worst. Goode just seemed like an actor the whole time and not Ozymandias. He never became the character to me. I imagined Dr. Manhattan to have a deeper, more monotone voice, and he had a much gentler and sensitive disposition than that. It was really interesting. I was also impressed by how they managed to make him look exactly right. He could have looked ridiculous being a blue man, but it worked. Yazuka - my whole theater was full of those people. My 14 year old brother and his friends included.

Welp, I wanted to read the GN for years, and finally got around to it last year, in anticipation of the movie. And of course it's the best GN ever. I know there are die-hard fans of the GN who hated the movie and those that loved it. I personally loved it, though I still think the GN was better, mostly because it just included so much more detail that there wasn't time for in the movie, even if it was fairly long, and also some stuff that just wouldn't have worked in movie format, anyway. I thought all the music worked brilliantly, and most of the actors were good. Rorschach was always the best character, the lynchpin of the GN, and Jackie Earle Haley was Rorschach. Jeffrey Dean Morgan was a great Comedian, Patrick Wilson was a great Nite Owl (or at least a great Dan Dreiberg). Billy Crudup was a good Manhattan, even if he was different from the GN. Didn't care that much for Ozy, perhaps because he was the character most changed. In the GN, he's noted as both the smartest man on earth and in peak physical condition. In the movie you get no clue of the latter, except when you actually see him in action. Anytime he's just talking, you kind of wouldn't expect that. But then, it also bugged me that all the characters seemed to have slightly superhuman strength, when really the only one with powers was Manhattan. Anyway, Malin Akerman was also decent as Laurie, largely because I thought she looked alot like Laurie. Oh... and it was nice to see Bubastis in the film, too. And Danny Woodburn as Big Figure. And Chris Gauthier as Seymour, at the end. And Apollonia Vanova looked awesome as Silhouette, shame we didn't get to see more of her, but... hey, that's the story. It's not about the Minutemen generation, anyway.
So... I should also say I'm lucky the audience in my theater didn't suck, at least as far as I noticed. And I look forward to getting the movie on DVD eventually...

The only fight scene that really bugged me was the one with the knot tops, simply because I don't think Laurie and Dan should have been using lethal force. Apart from the fact that it seemed OOC, why should I care that Rorschach and The Comedian are breaking all the rules of superheroing when Laurie and Dan are off breaking necks and stabbing people?
Adrian's "super powers" didn't really bother me though, simply because he was already meant to be an amazing athlete in the books.

Yah, that's been confirmed for the director's cut at least. It was the last thing Snyder ended up needing to cut.
