What the hell! Ok it's barely even debateble, the characters we have are pwnsome, perfect. But don't say that the creators are stupid if they put new characters in the same world.

Now I wouldn't mind seeing a story about a famous non bender. I mean you hear everything about these benders and yet it seems we never see enough non benders. It would be cool to see a famous gangster that smuggles goods in and out of the Fire Nation during the war that wants to get revenge on the nation that killed his parents.
Maybe somewhere we may meet a Nostradamus character that predicted the entire war and has the strongest connection to the spirit world. In which case would make him the oldest character we have ever seen. Almost 1000 years old. He will be a really cool character. I highly doubt that Bumi may die anytime soon, so he maybe a another good character to live longer, perhaps 212 years old.

I kind of wish that they wouldn't get all new characters, but hey, the more people they introduce, the more characters to love, eh? I just hope they put some sort of epilogue to this one if they do end these characters. Just so we know what happens.

Well look at other series within the same universe. Star Trek has three series around the same general time period. If there could be perhaps two more series, possibly with new characters. That would be great.
It would also be cool if the original characters made a cameo appearance in some of the episodes or the new characters run into old ones. Perhaps the new characters could run into one of Ty Lee's sisters? Maybe one of the new characters is Ty Lee's sisters.
Hopefully the movies by M. Night Shamyalan will open the public eyes and perhaps more things beyond the movies and series will happen. Sort of like an Expanded Universe, similar to that of the Star Wars Expanded Universe.

I hope the'll finish the Aang's arc with an epilogue episode, I don't they should focus on the Gaang after season 3 is over. Maybe other side characters as many have mention. Luten, Iroh, Jeong Jeong, Zhao, Foamy, lol yeah....Aang's parents.
I really hope they make an episode solely based on Aang's parents and their journey to take aang to the northern airtemple. Like maybe after his birth, the Western Airtemple got invaded, and Aaang parents go on a journey to reach the Northern Air temple (thats the place where Aang was raised right?) to find a safe place to raise their child.
Aang's dad should be a powerful airbender, that broke ties air nomad tradition, like a rebel, never got his tattoos, grows out his hair long, thats why he can blend in so easily in the crowd. He' doesn't listen to the elders he fights with any opposing forces from the firenation instead of doing nothing. He wanted to take Aang to his "fatherland" where he grew up as a child, knowing its the safest and remaining safe haven for air nomad. I think he should also be depicted also a bit of a goofball and a charmer, hence where Aang got that part og the gene from.
Aang's mom should be traditional and motherly, she's should be optimistic, strong will, caring and nurturing. Relcutant to fight, but will do anything to protect her baby...and literally!! Hence where aang got his optimism and nurturing side from.
Anyways, in the end Aang's father should be badly wounded while trying stop the Fire Nation Soldiers from reaching the temple, and Aang mother will struggle to drag both her husband and her son to the temple, they both die of exhaustion seeing their son safe in the hands of Monk Gyatso, after that the disappear into the wind, after Gyatso kept his eyes off of them for a second. Kind of like that scene from Ice Age.

Well that is highly possibly, it's like Luke appearing before his padawan(SP?) learner. Aang will sure do the same as Roku did for him, for the next water tribe avatar. Again with the Star Wars similarities that everyone keeps pointing out.

i think that the main characters being air, water, earth, and fire benders versus an evil avatar is the coolest idea ever.

i think that the main characters being air, water, earth, and fire benders versus an evil avatar is the coolest idea ever. I totally agree. I think it would be awesome to see some really powerful bending. I think it would be kinda nice if it had a bit of a darker tone, but I would still want the humor. A dark avatar using the elements for evil just sounds friggin' amazing. I think I also saw that someone suggested something to do with the spirits? Like evil spirits come into the world and the avatar needs to stop them or something? Yeah, that would be pretty sweet too

Now an evil avatar, that could work only if the avatar betrays the world for an evil cause. Perhaps they may pull an Anakin and have someone corrupt the avatar.

I really, really like the idea of an evil avatar for some reason... If they do new stories with new characters, I hope they make the characters as complex and compelling as the ones we have now.

How about Avatar: The First Waterbender
It would be like a prequel that dates all the way back to the creation of the first Avatar. They say the Avatars serve as the medium between the physical and the spirit world, and Avatars are in charge of maintaining peace and balance among human and nature right? Well that could mean that the world was in utter chaos at some point in history, which prompted the spirits the create the first Avatar.
I chose Waterbender as being the first because that's how the cycle begins in the intro - water, earth, fire air.
