Avatar is striving to prove the strength of girls through their female characters and are doing a fantastic job, yet I noticed something odd about the girls. All of them (the main and major characters) are masters of various fighting arts but their training to become masters went unseen; this can simply be attributed to the fact they were masters before they appeared with the notable and only exception being Katara.
Yet boys in Avatar are shown training to become masters or at least skilled in a fighting art. Aang is seen learning Waterbending, Earthbending, and Firebending with entire episode revolving around his training; Sokka is shown learning tessenjutsu and learning to sword fight among other things and being humiliated and working hard to learn these arts; Zuko is shown learning Firebending techniques and trying to master lighting, even Iroh- the seasoned war veteran- was seen getting into shape.
I was wondering why this is. Why are all the girls training segments unseen (besides the scenes where the girls- Toph and Katara- are training Aang or even Azula practicing Lightningbending that are not counted as training) while the males are always seen training and learning? I know Mike and Bryan are earnestly trying to empower young women with their female characters but why show the girls already strong with their training- if there is any- going unseen while the males are seen working to become skilled.

It seems more like coincidence than anything intentional.
The whole story is about Aang learning all of the elements, so we're going to see him learn each. For the most part it was one episode each, with a few exceptions.
But then again, we saw Katara practicing in The Deserter. She was doing it in The Warriors of Kyoshi too. They just do it when it suits the story.
As for Sokka, the whole focus of the episode was about him getting a sword. So we had to see him do some training. We probably won't see him practicing at it again unless it's in the background.
Zuko we've seen train twice. Katara train several times. Azula once. None for Toph, but then she hasn't really done anything BUT train since she was old enough to bend.
So no, I don't think it has any connection to gender. It's just the way the story unfolded.

perhaps the writers just either didn't have the chance to show the girls training, or Training scenes have been made but were taken out for time, or by studio requirements. or they just plum forgot. but yes, I do strive to see an eppy showing Toph training with Badgermoles. and Azula first learning lightning.

Well Toph had training from her earthbending master and learned more in 'the ring'. It was a part of her character story I think. You see her earthbending in the stadion. And than you learn that she is a daughter of a rich family and that her parents don't know anything of her great earthbending powers. You sort of need to have to feeling; Wow, she did it without anyone knowing who she really is.
For Katara, she discovered her powers by herself on the Southern Water Tribe. You hear Sokka talking in the first episode about her 'magic water abilities'. Thrue the show, she becomes stronger and better, learning new techniques.
As for Azula, she learned it in the years that Zuko was out searching for the Avatar. She must had loads of trainers, as in 'Zuko Alone', you see that she is already a fire bender at young age.

NO, what I mean is how no episode have been dedicated to the girls training at all. We didn't get to see Katara actually become a master despite how her training took place in the current storyline.

The argument about how Katara behavior was all of sudden and you said it would have been better if we got pretext of this before and that the same judgment you are using with the question.

From what I'm gathering you want an episode kind of like this one that just happen about the training of Katara or Toph...a history lesson.
Same argument we had about that if we got a episode for a better understanding of why Katara behavior in " The Awakening "

Same argument we had about that if we got a episode for a better understanding of why Katara behavior in " The Awakening " Oh- yeah exactly. Katara DEFINITELY should have got a "Sokka's Master"/ "Bitter Work" episode- more than any of the other characters who learned something new and were shown training. At least we should have been shown a training montage of Katara and Master Pakku.

Maybe it's been some time, but Katara did have a very related episode. In fact, watching Sokka's Master instantly brought to mind the Waterbending Master (even with master in the name!) True, that it didn't devote the time to training, but it was nonetheless Katara's struggle for instruction; which I think fits better anyways.
Katara's been shown training quite a few times, but not with episodes devoted to her. I personally think they'd rather emphasize other parts of her character, there's a lot of bending in the show.
Toph and Azula were right out shown to be masters, to have them train is only either vanity getting mega skills (like lightening and metal bending, did everyone forget about that?).
And of course this is Aang's story of mastering the elements and saving the world, it's a requirement to show him training, likewise for Zuko because they are parallels.
And Sokka...has had one day. Not just to train, but obviously to develop his character. And I defiantly thought that a Sokka centric episode was overdue.
