I thought there would be a thread for this movie, but I looking through the Movies board, I didn't spot one for it. So, even though I'm always a bit hesitant about starting new threads, I decided to make one so everyone who saw the movie can spaz over its awesomeness/critique it.
The movie pretty much melted my heart. You can almost forget that the protagonists are robots, because the emotions are pretty much like those of humans. The animation was stunning, and Wall-E and EVE is pretty much my movie OTP now.
My favorite part was when they flew together with that fire extinguisher out in space. Daww.

They kinda shoe horned the HAL villain in there. Instead of the contrived "lol must obey orders cuz I'm a robot and this movie needs a villain for some arbitrary reason" Auto should have been more "Don't go back because it's easier and more convenient to just stay in space."
Also needed more dialogue. The writing is the best part of Pixar movies. The first part of the movie was great in its silence, but when it eventually got to the Axiom, that storytelling style kind of ran out of steam for the most part.

Yeah, the lack of dialogue kind of made the first half of the movie run dry... as much as I liked seeing Wall-E run around and collect various objects of interest, it wasn't as exciting. It was pretty endearing, though, when it came to the Wall-E/EVE dynamics.
I agree about HAL's villainy being thrown in there all of a sudden, too. There were so many other possibilities that could've been done with his character, but there had to be some apparent conflict, I guess. I originally thought that the central villain was actually the huge "Buy n' Large" corporation, but I don't know.

I didn't care if it had dialogue. It's obvious that they barely won't be talking in the movie since they are robots. Anyways, the movie was "cute". Some parts were funny, while others were sad like when EVE fixed him up at the end and he didn't respond to her like the way he used to and then he comes back to his normal self. ^.^

I really liked the 2001 A Space Odyssey reference. I guess just like that movie, you don't really expect all of a sudden for the robot to go against the humans. Or maybe I just suck at predicting what's going to happen in the end of a movie. Anyway, I really liked this one by Pixar. It was really cute and surprisingly funny at some parts. I'm also glad it ended happily. I would've cried if Wall-E didn't get his memory back.

I cannot wait to see this film, stupid america gets every thing first. Im sure its going to be amazing I am a huge fan of Pixar and am certain they can do no wrong, dreamworks doesn't even compare to them I was totally dissapointed by Kung Fu Panda even though my hopes werent very high to begin with, They should have made the whole film 2D like the first few minutes, that would have made it really stand out and leave the CGI to the masters

I have heard so many people talking about how good this movie was, and read so many reviews where it spoke of how wonderful it was, but I have never once been interested in seeing it, I mean the animation, & everything looks dazzling, but when I saw the previews all I could think was, "Robots that have emotions?" 0_0 My best friend said he was forced to go see it with a bunch of his friends after they went bowling one time, and said his opinion on it was that while the animation was awesome, he just didn't like the movie. Said it wasn't worth what he had to pay to see it.

^XD I thought it was interesting. Very very interesting. Bothered me a little that the people didn't have fingernails. But that's okay. The animation was pretty much incredible. But the story won me over.

DANG I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!!! This is seriously now one of my favorite movies of all time. It got nominated for some Oscars, including Best Original Song ("Down to Earth" By Peter Gabriel (if you haven't heard it, I recommend you do so. Now.)) and Best Original Screenplay. I hope it wins both!!
