Has anyone already considered "Phaang"?
I am sure Toph and Aang are meant for each other, although at this point the writers haven't given us much between them, artistic / philosophical reasons and the age (for teenagers, there is a huge difference between 12 and 14, hence the "Momo" comment from Katara). Aang has a kid personality that I think will stay with him, and Katara has a motherly personality. I don't think the mother/son relationship could every change between them to become truly romantic. At this point, Aang just has a "Freudian" crush on his adoptive mother.
There is a parallel between Aang's crush on Katara and Toph's crush on Sokka. They fail to notice each other, but I think it will get interesting when they will.

I was happy for the "zut-zuts" when they released the clips. Aww man, has anyone else noticed that Toph has so little screen time? maybe something happened? We're only a few episodes away from the finale, I really do hope you're wrong, Marvel! XD taking suki away is just plain evil. lol. And yes, the writers aren't giving us any taang clips while zut-zuts are screaming wild..so..unfair! community.livejournal.com/capslock_atla/563497.html#cutid1She mentioned Koh would show up, but only for a short time though. It might be implied but I don't see it being on screen any time soon or even at all. But implication is enough, that's better than nothing right? Edit: Oh crap! I just thought of something that might help Tokka in regards to Suki.... She might have been brainwashed by Azula and might betray the gang during the finale! Say it isn't so! Logically speaking, would the creators break up Sokka and Suki just for shipping purposes? I say no. Because that would be shallow. So if they are to be split apart, it should be for something worth our while, not just to foist Toph on Sokka. What would be your reaction if Tokka gets thrown in at the end? For good reasons or not. Me? It'll depend. If it's due to something big like Suki being a double agent, I can accept that...grudgingly. But if it's just because Suki dumps Sokka at the last minute or vice versa, I say HELL NO. That's just shallow and not to mention creepy. It's the typical potrayal of male infidelity! The 'I'm Tired of the Old One. Gotta Get Something New' approach. And I sure as Hell know that would not fly in a children's animated series...at least in this one. (Batman Beyond had an episode where a scientist's hot wife cheats on him. With the very people who were extorting him too. It was a dark episode, implying sadistic torture at the end.) Edit again: (Censored)! World Tour 5 just went from awkwardly funny to serious....and I have to finish it before I leave on Friday. |

Eck, I'm torn between Sukka and Tokka.  I mean right now my Sukka side is HIGH on the anticipation radar and I wouldn't be happy if Sokka and Suki just suddenly broke up and then Toph just gets him but at the same time I feel a little bad for Toph. Oh well. She's a strong girl, she'll get over it. Would be interesting to see either a platonic Taang moment from that or a sisterly Katoph moment. firefly: If you've seen that Ember Island Players clip then I'd have to say I can't wait until they show Play!Toph and see if Aang makes a comeback at Toph. People were complaining earlier that Taang sounds like the orange drink, and I thought ph (end of Toph) + Aang would make an interesting name...
I think it will be very funny if ... SPOILER below
in the Ember Islands Players, they will portray Toph as a guy (the drawing I saw somewhere suggests it), and with Aang portrayed as a girl, they'll have something in common... Aang will probably make more of an effort to be more manly, and Toph to be more womanly, and who knows, maybe they'll start noticing each other after the play. :-)
