To be more on -topic, here is Taang fanart. Fanon is the only place I can... see Taang but I don't like how it's portrayed as super fluffy all the time. If the relationship was to become romance, it’d be like that fanart.

actually, the reason the relationship is portrayed as fluffy is because Aang and Toph are still twelve, and they have that "innocent" factor about them.

There's fanart of them when their older, where they do...more mature things, and there are plenty of fics that portray them beautifully, and romantically, without comprimising their personalities. If you'd like, I can link some for you, but seeing as you're a Kataanger, you're probably not interested.

Well, the "they’re still 12" thing is true but I see the cutesy thing in Older!Taang a lot too. For example, in every other Taang fanart Toph’s hair is down making her more dainty and such than she really is.

Yeah, I am. I don't ship Taang but I don't mind it so I just ask that any fics: a) don't downgrade Kataang in the transition from Aang -> Katara to Aang-> Toph and b) have no side of Zutara.

Okay, new topic time.

We've done, dates, kids, meeting the families...the usual stuff.

Let's try something a little more...mundane.

Just two kids talking.

What would they talk about?

I have this story idea where Aang starts talking about how cool it is that almost everyone in their little group has a nickname/dual identity.

Zuko is The Blue Spirit.

Katara is The Painted Lady.

Toph herself has TWO nicknames, which Aang would mash into one, 'The Blind Runaway Bandit'

Then they'd think of a funny name for Sokka.

Pointless stuff like that.

What's your take guys?

wow, I finally found the current thread!! I've been searching forever...
I think they'd have very interesting conversations, but only when they're alone. when the gaang is around, they get suffocated by canon... sokka? xD
Mostly just cute stuff, I think. it'd start out with bending, then move on to toph's badgermole learnings and the monks, then next their whole lives. I wish we had more one-on-one with these guys...

One or two spelling mistakes though but it's overshadowed by the great art.

Even if Aang doesn't like Toph in the romantic sense, he should still save her life. If he doesn't...well...then he's not a very good person let alone an Avatar is he?
