eh, personally, I can't see Toph with anyone but Aang. It's actually a weird thing, cause I could see Aang with a number of people, but Toph can only be with the Avatar >__>
anyway, I don't think they'll kill her off for Katara's sake, cause at this point neither Aang nor Toph have feelings for each other, except platonic.
Kataang is probably gonna happen in the end, the writer's said as much, and because of the age the show is targeted at, they kind of do have to go with the obvious >< but I think Toph is gonna die in the end because there's a lot of foreshadowing towards that, the most obvious one in "The Avatar and the Fire Lord". I really hope not, but something tells me there's a chance she might ><

Place her in mortal danger, yes. Kill her? Nah.

I'm sure it'll end up happy, Kataang-wise.
But I don't know, something tells me that Toph's not going to make it past the end of the show, and so far at least one character's died every season. I hope I'm wrong though, cause Toph's too awesome to die T__T but I guess we'll see.
Anyway, back on Taang.
hm...topic...
okay, so I think this was asked already, but...where do you see Taang getting it's starting point?

okay, so I think this was asked already, but...where do you see Taang getting it's starting point? The Cynic in me says it will never get a starting point. "Yeah...right." The Hopeful says maybe if Face Stealing Orthopaedist's Nightmare targets Toph and Baldy doesn't screw it all up....but Hopeful isn't feeling very hopeful nowadays. "I think that a Face Stealer episode would be the starting point...but then Mr Freaky Face might go after Katara and that'll just sink my hopes." Speculative proposes that it'd be Sokka of all people to knock some sense into the Avatardus Airheadus. "Aang...you're like a brother to me...so I'll tell it like it is...If you don't stop ogling Katara and get on with learning your jerky firebending from Prince Jerky McJerkjerk so that you can beat his King of Jerks father and end this war. I will end the air benders. Oh you'll still be alive but there won't be anymore airbenders." Spiteful just wants Jo-Zai to win. Spiteful is a mean fella. Spiteful is a Fire Nation sympathiser. "Oh come on! Let'em win! They've been at it for a hundred years! You gotta give them an A+ for effort and commitment!"

Toph can't die, she's made of awesomeness Then I'd feel bad if Kataang really did happen at the end, even though it's one of my ships. Argh, I just can't imagine the show without Toph. It's like killing off Sokka, minus the whole Katara-lost-her-brother thing. I just hope that we get some more Taang moments. If it isn't a concrete ship, I want to at least see some "alone time" between the two. Even if Taang isn't the ship at the end of the series, you know, I want something to remember it by. I sound so full of sappiness today.

I sound so full of sappiness today. Well, the way things are going, I guess a Katara and Aang ending is pretty much a shoe-in. I guess I'm fine with that...so long as its well written. I don't think even Kataang fans would enjoy it if their ship was riddled with plot holes and trite dialogue. "Yes! Katara chose Aang!" "Yeah...but they kinda threw the big confession in at the last minute. And they never did elaborate on their relationship since the Invasion episodes. Kind of a hollow victory don't you think?" And if they DO kill off Toph, made worse by having Aang and her share a little quality time, just to push Aang and Katara together, I suppose this letter to Marvel written way back then by a disgruntled fan applies, just switch out Gwen Stacy's name with Toph's. And I quote: "To whoever had the idea of killing off Gwen Stacy," "You rattlesnake, you buzzard, you large red insect, you worm, you cockroach, you lizard, you skunk, you tapeworm in the digestive system of humanity; Why is it when a superhero and his girl finally seem to be getting it together, you kill off the girl? May you lose every tooth in your head but one, and in that one may you have a toothache; and may someone put arsenic in your water. May you be struck down by the spirit of justice and be re-incarnated as an amoeba."

^I wouldnt like it if the Kataang ending sucked, but I know the writers wouldn't do that, they are better than that.

I was just throwing out thoughts and ideas. Besides, the creators' primary concern was the story, not 'Shipping', so I wouldn't worry much about any couplings now that it's the final stretch of the show. They should be pushing the main plot line more. Any couplings that occur are side effects.

firefly, no, sadly there are more Kataang hints then Zutara, and the writers practically said that Katara's gonna end up with Aang. Don't worry, I'm upset too I really don't like Kataang, and I think the show would've been better if they paired Toph with him. marvel, thank you for posting that letter! Omg, I wish I could karma the person who wrote that! XD ROFL! I love that line! Purplejay, I think I get what you're saying. You mean you don't want Toph and Aang to spend time alone together talking about their crushes or something, right? Yeah, I want them to have a conversation just for the sake of talking too, I would hate it if they spent their time discussing Katara or Sokka. I liked how they talked to each other in "Sokka's Master" (if only Katara hadn't been around) and in "The Puppet Master". Just harmless moments where they further their friendship. and we could really use a topic right about now, but I can't think of any atm. Anyone have ideas?

SkyE, yeah, you always have interesting stuff to say ^^
firefly, I think they revealed it at SDCC, but it wasn't Mike or Bryan who said it, it was the voice actor for Appa and Momo. He told it to a preteen Zutarian who asked him if Zuatara's going to happen, because he didn't want the kid to get their hopes up, just to get crushed.
but it doesn't really matter, cause Taang will live on even if it doesn't actually happen in canon. Just give us some more Taang moments in the show, and everyone will be -mostly- happy XD
okay...so topic...oh, here's a good one, I hope.
Do you guys think that any of Toph and Aang's kids will inherit their mother's blindness?

It'd be pretty interesting if one did and was an airbender. I wonder how that'd work out. Probably they'd learn to feel the wind around them or something.
