Don't forget to leave a comment, guys
I liked the part where he said, "I'm sorry I chose them over you" the most. It seemed to touch upon the fact that Aang always goes along with what Katara says/does, and rarely does he assert himself.
This is why, to me, there's a 70% chance that their world is doomed.
Katara is Jo-Zai's biggest asset, they just don't realize it.
Yes, her hostility towards Tony Montana (Scarface, get it?) is understandable and justified.
But if she disrupts Aang's firebending just because of her own selfish bias...well, that's good characterization...it's a just a bad character trait.
What would be disgusting is if she tries to convince Aang that maybe firebending isn't all that important. Just keep working on Water bending, it is the opposing element after all.
All just to get Zuko out of her sight.
Aang is now Zuko in a sense, plagued with self doubt. Combined with his natural urge to drop things, ie he'd rather go play than discuss future plans, he will need strong support.
Yes, Katara has always been that supporting pillar, in Aang's eyes anyway. But now cracks are starting to show. In time, I hope, that Charlie Brown would come to realize that his Red Headed Girl is more of a security blanket and that you can't go through life holding on to one. You just won't grow.
Aang needs psychiatric help. I see we have Lucy in the group. But baldy rarely visits. And I doubt he's got the 5 cents to ask.
I want Katara to attack Zuko.
In front of witnesses.
Harvey Dent (Another scar joke) won't defend himself, much. He'll try not to get hurt, but he won't retaliate. He knows by doing so he'll just give Katara the ammo she needs to get rid of him.
Sokka would be curious as to why his normally placid sister went berserk.
Toph would be very cheesed off as in the fic above.
And Aang...ah poor dumb bald kid...his reaction is the most crucial of all.
Aang: "We trusted you Zuko! How dare you attack Katara!?"
Aww... he's so protective. To quote from the cartoon Two Stupid Dogs,
"Aww...now aint' that cute? BUT IT'S WRONG!"
Aang: "What's going on? What are you two doing?"
Confusion is the best expression here. He's not showing favoritism to either side...yet.
If Katara's got her wits about her she might spin the whole blame on Zuko. IE she's becoming Azula.
All just to get rid of Zuko.
Ooooh parallelism.
Zuko can either stay quiet or defend himself. Neither option seems good to him. Staying quiet indicates his guilt. Defending himself would also imply he's guilty.
Katara needs to rant, slowly going from semi-rational to full blown Hama. Like her little heart to heart with her dad, but worse.
And then we wait.
To hear what comes out of the world's last hope's mouth. Will he still be the last hope...or no hope at all.
How does this affect Taang?
Aang gets brownie points for disregarding Katara's rant and asks for Zuko's explanation before making a decision. Toph'd know the truth but it's better for Aang to figure it out his way.
Very diplomatic and Avatar-esque.
Of course siding with Katara harms Taang. Toph'd be so disappointed and angry with him.
Toph: "All this time around the world and he's learned nothing."
If the latter occurs, don't feel bad Taangers. Take heart that Toph's better off without a weak spined, milk sop of an Avatar. Plus we can take some measure of sick gratification knowing that the world will burn and it's all Katara's fault.
In that case,
Zuko: "I should have killed the Fire Lord when I had the chance. Save us all this drama."
But no, it won't go down like that...or would it?
Over here, the show's subtitle is 'The Legend of Aang'. Whoever said all legends are good ones?
