This is old news but, when Jet died I really feel like there wasn't enough closure. We didn't get to see the full effects on Smellerbee and Longshot. And Katara hasn't even mentioned how she feels about the whole thing. I mean, we see Sokka mentioning/ thinking about Yue every so often. Why hasn't Katara mentioned Jet AT ALL?
Now that some time has passed since the 'Lake Laogai' episode, has anyone heard of possible news on whether or not we will get some more cannon closure on Jet's death?

I think that Katara had only a crush on Jet, now she loves Aang

I hope we get some closure. Not even a lot, I just want Longshot and Smellerbee to be back for the final battle. If they just say something then and they all have a moment, it will be enough for me. I was expecting something on DOBS when Pipsqueak and the Duke came back. It was weird they didn't get L or S too.

What kind of closure are you guy s looking for exactly? Because I really can't think of any way Jet's death needs closure. We see that Katara is a bit sad when they reinacted the episode "Jet" in the Ember Island Players clip. That's about as good as it's gonna get I think.

that's true about the ember island players clip. but i guess i'd just like someone to mention that yes Jet is gone and yes Smellerbee and Longshot are off doing something. do the Duke and Pipsqueak even know about Jet? I'm assuming not.
I guess i'd like to see Katara or Aang (who Jet bonded with a bit more later on) say something. or maybe one of them could make a comment about who's been lost along the way, like the sacrifices they've had to make.
I liked Jet's character, and i feel like his death wasn't clear enough. it was almost like he just had a really bad injury, but there was some hope of recovery. I know it's a show on nick and that's why the scene had to be tamed-down. but i feel like the reality of the situation has been overly-ignored in a way. whearas Yue (who also disapeared in a way) gets more mention. Sokka had like a one week thing with her. And it seemed like Jet liked Katara, I just want her to talk about it and how it maybe affected her.
---->end too-long, rambling post

I blame censors. Can't give death too much attention in children's animation. Avatar probably used up all its chances before Jet's death with its references to Sokka's and Katara's mother's death. Notice how, despite it being painfully obvious Ursa killed Azulon, Ozai describes that night in the most roundabout way possible to avoding to staing this fact directly.
So, I doubt the subject of Jet's death can be raised too often, lest they traumatize the children in the audience. [/sarcasm]

^ lol I love the sarcasm tag
I don't think and dang well hope that Jet's death is going to get any more closure.... Enough time has already been wasted this series on random nonesenss.... The bit in Ember Island players is enough I don't wanna see any more on this matter there are more important things for the series to deal with....
And Katara was never in love with Jet neway she had a small fan girl fit and it ended when he lyed to her.... And in 217 she was just annoyed to see the guy her broke her trust trying to get close again.... She loves Aang and if she had really loved Jet then she wud hav been inconsolable about his death in the episodes following 217...... I don't think apart from in the play Jet will even get a second thought...

Maybe after seeing the play, Zuko will ask a question about him. At least then Katara could say he died. Would that be enough for you? Cause that could be all ya get. Of course they could just mention him in the play and nothing more, just one more missed opportunity from M&B.

yea, i'd be pretty happy with that. it's something that i can let go, and there's definitely not enough time left for too much dialogue to be spent on it. it's just that, well, it bugged me that Jet didn't get a proper like 'good bye' or something, because I liked the development that his character underwent (in the very few episodes that he was in.) yea, that reminds me, apparently M and B aren't revisiting the whole 'Iroh's trip into the spirit world' thing. I wanted to know more about that...oh wellllz

Jet's death was insinuated, if Katara couldn't help him we were to believe he died, there was not a soul who could help him. I guess they felt that was all he needed. Poor Jet. I never liked the guy, but something more than what they gave us would have been nice.
No Iroh's trip to the spirit world?! I was so looking forward to that. It was one of the BIG things I was looking forward to! AAGGHH, M&B never cease to disappoint me.

It's just another fact we need to accept about Avatar: we can't get proper character development because of the 20 episode per season limit (yes I know about season three).

About Katara not mentioning Jet, I don't think she really loves him anymore. Also, she has other things to talk/think/worry about. Jet was a secondary character, and really has no reason to be brought up. Yue, however, is now the moon. Lots to talk about.
Summarized... Reh reh reh, Low importance, reh reh reh!

You know you guys are absolute right, Jet didn't get a proper closure, and not even Duke and Pipsqueak knows about the death of their beloved leader. Regardless as to whether or not the Gaang knows about his condition, I was at loss that the Gaang didn't even bother mention about other Freedom Fighters, especially Jet to the Duke and Pipsqueak, but I have a feeling they might, giving Pipsqueak reasons to go back to Ba Sing Se and help liberate them with Hakoda. I also feel that maybe Zuko would give an epic speech at the end of the finale, commemorating all of those who lost their lives in the senseless war, apologizing to the whole world for what the Fire Nation did to them for the last 100 years, and talk about they all have to live passed that, start a new era of peace and love...etc....and during that speech, they will show all of the characters in the show, and I'm sure they'll have the freedom fighters all paying respecting to their fallen leader at his grave....with smellerbee in longshots arm.

It's probably true Jet died. We will probably see Smellerbee and Longshot before it's all over, so somewhere along those lines will we find out about Jet. Wasn't there flashbacks when his village burn down and the fire nation soldier that caused the wildfire upon his village? Then again, we can never be sure, but remember there are Fire Nation Soldiers at Ba Sing Se and are probably in control of the town. CONSPIRACY probably with the Dai Lee. Lots of questions that need answering thats for sure. I wouldn't be surprised if the last words of the entire show come from the cabbage merchant saying "MY CABBAGES! OH! I GIVE UP!"
