Welcome to Lotus City! An intricate citadel set atop a desert oasis, Lotus City has been welcoming new people and new ideas for a few years now. Created by the lovely and mysterious Great Architect, who brought the first inhabitants over the sands from Ba Sing Se, Lotus City has been designed for peace and convenience. With crops lining the outer walls, neighborhoods face inwards towards the Great Tower and the Hall of Government. Lush gardens are common thanks to a complex irrigation system created with the help of swamp benders, also allowing for the public parks facing North, South, East and West. The four looping roads at the center are know as the petals: North Petal, East Petal, South Petal, and West Petal. The diagonal corners outside of the petals are districts: Northeast District, Southeast District, Southwest District, and Northwest District. Large, curved walls alternate, acting as a buffer against the sands. Information booths and basic supply stalls line the inner walls near the narrow opening, providing help for weary travelers. Often surprising to incoming refugees is the system of government, which does not have a head monarch but merely a council of leaders chosen by sector who meet in the Hall of Government bi-weekly to pass laws on general conduct. Well known as a city of artistic beauty, the council encourages public works such as murals and fountains. Ethnic propaganda was forbidden, however, in an effort to move on from the war. The only known historically-based mural would be a small mosiac in the entrance of the Hall of Government, chronicling the architect's self-removal from power and the installment of the council. Most common are images of the Lotus, the symbol of the city, sometimes combined with images of the Great Tower. The city's colors are white and gold; gold in honor of the sands that protect them on all sides, and white for peace and cleanliness. Hygiene became an important issue and became identifiable with more civilized people, marking city dwellers as separate from the nomadic sandtribesmen. Public baths located near the Tower keep cleanliness from being a luxury for the rich alone. Clothing is often white and gold on festival days, usually with green accents. Generally, married women cover their hair and eligible women wear paper fans if they wish to decorate theirs, rather than wear the heavy wooden or metal bars used in Ba Sing Se. Mantles are worn similar to those seen in the fire nation, but with curved rather than tapered ends, and are mainly used to protect the shoulders from the searing sunlight. They are often taken off indoors. Currently the city is abuzz with activity as everyone prepares for the Star Festival, a large evening celebration expressing thanks to the night sky for guiding sandsailors over the desert. But there is a dark undertone to the excitement, as Marus, leader of the northwest quarter, has been arrested and is being held in the high tower for attacking a firebender on the street after a night of heavy drinking. As racial tensions rise behind closed doors, many begin to wonder if they should be having a festival to celebrate immigration at all. IMPORTANT PLACES: ~The Architect's home in the South Park ~Pao's Clinic (healing) ~Huojin's Clinic (chemical) ~Li's Apartment Housing (for those who wish to be closer to the city's center) _______________________________________________________
This is just a small rp camp to let all the new members get to know each other better. However, all material here will be canon, so don't write anything you don't want in Far Cry.

Linn wrung out the clothing and draped them carefully into the baskets before walking to the far side of her yard to hang them. If you could call it a yard, even. A skinny ring of gnarled saplings marked a loose outline, but really her house was just another part of the park. Very pretty compared to normal desert fair, but absolutely no privacy. That was alright though, she encouraged her people to come and visit her. It wasn't as if she had anything to hide. She took on no secret lovers, had no qualms with her past... and the people of the city were certainly not those to condemn. At least not generally... All this business with Senator Marus was just awful though. Marus was a good enough man, she thought. Just had a momentary lapse of judgment, blinded by drink and probably more than a few bad memories. She was certain he would be asked to serve a few weeks of community service and would be allowed to return home. If they asked for her opinion, that's certainly what she would suggest. One by one she strung up the garments in the late afternoon sun. The dying light would be more than enough to dry all of the clothing before nightfall. She sighed with motherly frustration as she noted the new burn marks on Seki's freshly cleaned shirts and tunics. With all this business about being "The Great Architect", you'd think she could find a suitable master for her wily son. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pao stood somberly over a miniature bonsai pine, clipping it carefully. Since he had no patients so far today, he had retreated into his house behind the clinic. There he kept house with a makeshift cot and a small kitchen, devoting as much space as possible instead to his growing assortment of plants. People often brought him seeds from their journeys as payment for his services, and as he had nutured them he had turned the room into a tiny jungle. It comforted him a little, making him think of his home in the swamps.
(OOC: Okay guys, there's two starting points for you: Linn the Architect and her son Seki who live in the park, and Pao the healer at the clinic. If you have any questions, feel free to pm me or post them in the same format I am using here. :3 )

Kin looked upon the great Lotus City... News of this city has spread around the whole earth kingdom a nice tranquil place that is a nice place to start a new life. Kin was anticipating a new life... mostly because his brother wanted a better life, and Kin was searching for his brother and new family, not that his father and mother were not family, but a happier family!
----------------------------------------------------------
Kin walked into the the city. The great houses and buildings were all aligned and they were a spectacular sight to see. Kin approached a great building a green building, it looked as if it were covered by moss is a way. Kin opened the door...
"Ahh I already like Lotus city, and Ive only been here say...10 Minutes!" Kin Happily thought. The Lady at the counter was wrinkled and old she said with a wise sort of tone " Are you Kin, By any chance?" Kin looked up at the dear old lady and then to her name tag which read "Li" Kin spoke In a soft voice "Yes i am, i have reserved a room here" Li looked at Kin and said "Yes, follow me"
Step after step the two climbed up 5 stair cases to Kins Living Quarters
Li Said "Here this is where you will be staying, Basic necessity's and a balcony to over look the gardens"
Kin thanked the old lady and gave her 70 Copper pieces...
Kin set down his duffel bag and laid in the bed he laid there thinking of...Nothing really, just anew life and what to expect from a new town how he would make new friends and what could possibly happen Lotus City...

"Got you!" shouted Seki happily as he tagged Buto, scraping his hand as he reached into the bushes to do so. The gardens of Buto's family's apartment were smaller than the park where he lived, so it was easier to spot people just by the slightest movement. He had played the game so many times he had become uncanny at distinguishing the movement of people in hiding from just stupid animals in the brush. It had scared his mother when he had explained it to her, but he was proud of his abilities. They made him feel like a grown up. "No fair!" whined Buto, "You always tag me! Why don't you tag Kinta for once?" He gestured at the little girl who had poked her head out of her hiding place to watch them. Kinta lived in a real house half a block down the street of South Petal and often played with Seki and Buto's group of friends. She also had long brown hair and a pretty upturned nose that made Seki feel funny inside. "She's a girl." Seki said stubbornly. "She probably has cooties." "I do not!" chimed Kinta from her bush. "Do to! All girls have cooties." "Nu-uh! If they did, boys wouldn't marry them." Kinta shot back. "They probably marry them because they have cooties too." answered Seki, "I'll never marry any stupid girl. I'm gonna be a sand pirate!" He struck what he thought was a fierce pose. "Then I'm gonna be a pirate too. Pirate girls don't have cooties." "That's right." agreed Buto, "Pirates don't have cooties. They have swords and go on adventures." "Alright." conceded Seki, "But girl pirates can't climb as fast as reg'lar pirates. Their dresses get in the way." "I bet I can climb up to the third balcony before you can!" challenged Kinta. "Oh yeah?!" Seki scrambled to get to the leaning apple tree before Kinta. The tree reached over the second balcony on the building, where Buto lived.

Kin heard some laughing outside, he got off the bed. There was an imprint where Kins body had rested. He slowly walked over to the balcony, the floor made creaking nosies one step at a time. The smell of dust lingered even after the intensive clean the owners gave the room before Kins arrival.
Kin Looked down to wards the little kids playing below "Hello there little kids!" Kin screamed

"Huh?" Seki looked up from his climbing and managed to spot a figure leaning over the top balcony. "Hey Buto, isn't that your granny's new houseguest?" laughed Kinta, unthinkingly reaching out to a skinnier branch to get a better look. "He's a tenant." corrected Buto, proud of his new word. He shaded his hand with his eyes to get a better look when suddenly there was a sharp crack and a scream. Kinta had put too much weight on the smaller branch and it had cracked underneath her, sending her tumbling down. Luckily, Seki had been directly below her and had scrabbled to get a grip on her before she got any farther, grabbing a fistful of her sleeve. She dangled awkwardly just below him, terrified. "Hold on!" Seki demanded, aghast at the sudden turn of events. He reached his other hand to grab Kinta's other arm and to try and haul her back onto the branch with him, but forgot he was no longer holding onto the tree himself. When he leaned forward to try and pull her up, he lost balance and fell off his branch. Too startled to scream, both of them fell several feet to the ground, hitting the stubby grass with a thud.

"Hey Are you guys OK?" Kin screamed down at the kids playing below...Kin jumped down 5 stories using his earth bending to soften the landing. "You you should be a little more careful when climbing trees!" Kin exclaimed to the little kids "My names Kin, Whats yours?"

Kinta had folded over herself, awash in tears. Seki was holding his arm and trying very hard not to cry like Kinta, but moaned and sniffled. Buto looked up from his friends to the new guest, eyes like saucers. "My name's Buto." he answered, following the grownup's instruction. "Mister, can you get my Granny from the front desk? I think they're hurt pretty bad."

"Will Do!" Kin ran inside the main office... "Ahh...are you Buto's Grandmother by any chance?" Li Replied... "Yes what did he do this time?" "Oh nothing" Kin Exclaimed "His Friends fell out of the big oak in the gardens, I think they are hurt"
Li and Kin ran outside to where the kids were

"Buto, what did I tell you children about climbing that tree?" scolded Li and she moved closer, leaning on her cane. "But Granny, I didn't! Kinta and Seki were having a race." "Racing is something you kids should do on the ground, not in the air." grumbled Li, looking over the injured children. She pulled Seki to his feet by his good arm, but he cried out all the same as his injured one was jostled. "Sir, would you mind carrying the girl? It looks like she broke her leg. I'd do it myself, but in my old age..."

Kin picked up the little girl, she fit snug in kins moderatly big arms. "So, i guess you guys learned not to do that anymore?" Kin Said. The 5 people entered the Apartment building, and entered the Living quearters for Buto's grandmother. "I'll set you down here on this bed, okay" Kin Told Kinta. "every thing will be fine" Kin Said...

"No, don't put her down." the old woman shook her head. "I'm sorry, I know you're new to the city. The truth is there are too few healers in the city since that plague a year or so ago. They can't take the time to visit people's houses: they might miss something important, and lives could be lost. So we're going to have to walk to one of the clinics. We just stopped in here so I can get my bag." Li picked up the purse in question. "Now, the closest would probably Pao- he's just a few streets west. Miss Huojin lives farther north, towards the center of the city. Call me a fickle old lady set in her ways, but I never trust a firebending healer... when it comes to broken bones." she added hastily, remembering Seki.

"Well, alright." the disapproving grandmother conceded. "Just as long as you don't mess up the road paving, I don't mind." Buto's face lit up somewhat when Kin mentioned earthbending, despite his friends' plight. "You're an earthbender? Really?"

Kin looked at the little boys face, he looked astonished. "yes, im an earthbender, so is my brother" Kin got in stance, lifted his hands and out of the cobblestone path rose a platform 5 foot by length and 3 feet by width, it was approxamentaly 5 inches thick. There was no sign anything ever happenend below the Street. The slab of stone hovered on the street. "Get on, and hold on"
