Woah, that's going to take awhile to read. Could you please explain for those of us that don't feel like reading all of that?

Thanks for the link, I've wanted to read this. *karma* I'd heard about this guy a while back. He was a typical Japanese Otaku stereotype (nerdy, no social life) that posted on 2-Chan (the biggest Japanese image board, think 4chan, but with less crazy) about protecting a woman on a train from a drunk man. The other posters gave him some advise, and, eventually, he turned his image around and eventually dated and (I think) married her. It got so big, it was even in the news. The story's been scrutinized for legitimacy, but it's a good story, nonetheless. Looks like there's not only a manga, but a movie, a tv series, and a stage play. Here's a Wiki link on it: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Densha_Otoko

Oh, I knew I've seen this somewhere before!! This is the Train Man manga!!! It's a live action movie too.
I heard that Train Man was a true story (probably not all the way true now).

I think Gacs quoted himself because his description matches Kaneda's image. It doesn't matter what story or person we're talking about, GH will always be my personal favorite Otaku.

Otacon's not very mysterious though. He just builds robots and pees his pants.

I'm probably proving just how big an idiot I am, but I'm not seeing the connection between that manga and here.
