BB, you should have edited out the crazy aspie rambling along with the "p*ss" remark.
Alyson, you probably shouldn't debate in the CT just yet if you aren't going to take a mildly educated side, or at least read the thread you're posting in.

Lets stay on topic. and a reminder CT is for debating and that means having good facts and being respectful.

You're not respectful towards me and I shouldn't be respected. I only take orders from my husband and he is a dang dissilience.

Hi Alyson, first of all welcome to the forum I'm SpiritYue the resident dinosaur of the board I would just like to add my two cents to this thread as well as your previous posts. I am a grown woman who's married and has two great kids, my thoughts on feminism are really not all that much to tell the truth. Don't get me wrong, I can understand about the whole equal pay thing, and being respected for one's talents rather than one's gender, and all the other aspects that I just don't really care to mention at this time as it would take way to long to list. That being said, I am a stay at home mom as per my hubby's and my both deciding it together, as a couple. We decided what we both thought would be in the best interest for our kids. Also, even though there are the obvious differences between my hubby and I, we have always treated each other as equals intellectually, spiritually, and as parents. I am just truly baffled as to why you would have such a low opinion of yourself and to say that you only take orders from your husband. That's not really a very healthy attitude to have, especially if you have kids. It sounds like you need to do some soul searching if you ask me. I'd also like to extend a hand of friendship and to let you know that if you'd ever like another married woman to chat with, you could send me a pm anytime! I love to talk and I love making new friends, so...just thought I'd offer.

You're not respectful towards me and I shouldn't be respected. If you don't think you should be respected then why should people respect your opinion?

You're not respectful towards me and I shouldn't be respected. If you don't think you should be respected then why should people respect your opinion? That is a good point. XD If that is her life, then just ignore her because her opinion is invalid. XP

Lets keep this on topic and remember debate the topic not the poster. It was a question that reaches beyond a simple explanation of proclivity by her. She believes that women shouldn't be respected, and thus by extension neither should their opinions. However she aggressively states her own opinion. I was hoping for a clarification of this paradox

I was hoping for a clarification of this paradox True but we all know where talking about a person over the issue leads. To an off topic argument that disintegrates into a flame war. Sorry BB! That's what I get though I suppose... Its fine, we just need to keep from making this issue unnecessarily personal.

It's not attacking the individual so much as arguing against the logic and beliefs of the individual, which is what the critical thinking board is all about.

Unbelievable... Kaneda is right this time o.o
While we don't flame others in the CT, we are allowed to dissect their argument and counter it by exploiting any means necessary.
Still, let's try to not antagonize people, to EVERYONE here, or else this thread goes bye-bye.
Anyways, I'm more of the equality/moderate person; I'm not into the extremes of feminism or the extremes of Male-rule. Although there are many feats that one sex can claim over the other, it doesn't mean that one is necessarily BETTER than the other.

I completely agree with Horyo! There is no way that one sex can be determined as being better than the other, after all, it takes both to procreate
