I can play Ode to Joy on the viola. That's all.

I'd normally concur with the guitar, but there's too many wannabe guitarists out there (myself included).
I vote the cello. It may be big and cumbersome, but the range of tones you can get through it is incredible. As an example, I recommend that you listen to Saint-Saens' "The Swan" from The Carnival of the Animals. It is the quintessential cello piece.

I vote double bass coz it is seriously coool.... violin viola and chello only really sound good playing classical music but the double bass is also an amazing jazz instrument.... And it's huge good for hitting ur enemies which is the real reason ne one learns an insturment...

Hmm, well which one are you more passionate about? Does any one stand out more to you? I suggest that you listen to some music where each instrument has a solo part or is more prominent than the rest of the instruments and see which one "speaks" to you. Hope this helps

The violin is clearly sexier. Only when people can actually play it. When people can't, they make it all gross and squeaky ksla;jgklahfk. D:

I would vote for violin because I played it a long time ago, but I'm not sure if you'd enjoy it. =/ Let yourself decide what you want, and go for it. ^__^
I feel like trying for a violin again, but I might not be good at it like I was long ago, unfortunately.

As for learning the instrument, I'd suggest staying away from violin. Many people tend to play violin, so theres more competition. If you still want to go for something small, pick viola. It almost feels like a violin, but theres far less competition with it, and the parts are generally easier ;D.
