wow, that is way harsh. it will take some time to get used to, but you would have to be a VERY bad voice actor to warrent the killing of Iroh.
lighten up. Iroh is still kicks Equus asinus.

I meant solely as a sign of respect, which is what I would've done had I have had creative control. I didn't say that because it would imply I think they're disrespecting him by not doing so, which I do not believe to be the case - they have already shown respect at the end of... whichever episode it was. Could someone tell me which one it is.. I could sware I just checked the end of every episode in book 2 but couldn't find it.

your thinking of the tale of Iroh in the tales of ba sing se.
and while you may not have inteded to sound disrespectful, that is how it came across.
we love Iroh, we love makio, and we have an open mind in seeing how Greg Baldwin will carry Iroh to his destiny.
PS you should go to your profile, manage profile, and change how your name is displayed. fgdfs, sounds pretty stupid and also betrays how much time you spent in registering. your sig is sorta messed up too, but whatever. to each his own.

I can't say I like Iroh as much anymore. In fact, I almost resent him for having a new voice actor. Mako's voice truly completed Iroh's character. I wish they had killed Iroh off. Ouch! Cut the guy a little slack, will you? He doesn't sound much like Mako, but I don't think that's any reason to resent Iroh's character or his new VA.

thats the question. does Iroh know of the dates for sozin's comit and the day of black sun? Maybe he does. That could be the reason he's gotten buff: he plans to escape during the solar eclipse when no-one can firebend (i.e. the prison guards).

I thought so too, but I only checked the end of the episode so I couldn't find it. You've misread. I wasn't referring to myself when I mentioned disrespect, I was referring to the show. I don't understand how I've disrespected anyone. I never said I resented the new voice actor. If anything I've meant the utmost respect to Mako. you should go to your profile, manage profile, and change how your name is displayed. fgdfs, sounds pretty stupid and also betrays how much time you spent in registering. your sig is sorta messed up too, but whatever. to each his own. What? It took me two seconds to register; it betrays nothing. Also, relevance? If you have such a problem with my sig as to go so completely off-topic then I will change it. It's just a signature, I could care less

the eclipse may have something to do with it, but not in his escaping. escaping isnt an issue for iroh. hell, the avatar and the firelord pretty much confirmed that Iroh has either already broken out, or at least has someone on the inside. *rolls eyes* ya, it does. think real hard about what that might be hint: you just said it umm... mako is not the new voice actor.

I doubt you could even tell me what fgdfs or bmth are without using google, in which case both are just a series of random letters; so what's the difference? Seriously, get over it.
Oh, really? Thanks for the breaking news. I haven't been talking about him and his passing this entire time... Oh, and I assume you meant Mako. Just because I use a pronoun in one sentence, doesn't mean the noun in the next is related...
...
Seriously

well durrr. of cores those are random letters, it shows... ya know what. either your a troll or just really slow on the pick-up. /ignore. ok, now that thats out of the way, im gonna repost something to get us back on topic. anyways, i nominate Iroh for the most manly man in avatar. that pic really sums it up perfectly for me. most would not consider tea, singing, or some of the other things Iroh has done not to be "manly", But Iroh is someone who does not need to compensate for anything.Iroh is someone who is completely secure and stable, who knows what he wants, he knows how to find peace and he knows how to protect it. respected, charasmatic, and one powerful BAMF... and that was before he decided to get ripped. so... do you agree? most manly man ever? well its official Iroh stays in the FN prison (at least when the guards are looking ;D) all the way up to the day of the invasion. what do you think Iroh is planning? what do you think he is going to do when the day of black sun hits? a) make his way to Ozi, and try to use his muscles and martial arts skilz to take out Ozh when neither of them can fire-bend. b) hook up with aang help him. c) escape with Zuko d) break out and look for Ursa e) use his prestige and new generalish look to rally FN troops to fight against the establishment f) other. i think any and all are possible, however i dont think it will be C. if Iroh were to escape with zuko Ozi would think that zuko had something to do with the invasion and send all of his troops after them both. but more importantly, zuko now need to find his own path, he need to leann that he doesnt need anyone else to define himself. also, in the interview with mike, he pretty much said that Iroh was gonna make a new decision that would take him down a different path then the last two seasons.

ahum. back on topic guys,
which one of those above things do you think Iroh will do during the day of black sun?
also, in the "ask Greg Baldwin" thread, Greg mentioned that he did the voice acting for Iroh over a year agao, the shorts he did were done much later. to me at least, the Iroh in the shorts sounded much more like mako. very well done. so it seems like Gregs' voice has evolved for the better as he has started voice acting Iroh.
also, he kinda dodged some of my questions, like he wouldnt seriously answer if he used a "romantic" voice yet this season. he also said that he does not know how the FN artifact came to Iroh's possession. but he also mentioned that he does not read the entire script, so it may still be explained with flashbacks or something like that.
my biggest beef with this season is, not enough Iroh. i really hope they lay him on thick after tomorrow. by the way, after the day of black sun, would you guys want me to post Iroh related spoilers, or do you just want to PM me for links first?

ya. perhaps, they just wanted to disassociate us from the old Iroh voice instead of just plunging us into the new one. and i would understand if Iroh sounded abit ticked at zuko. Iroh is a pretty "forgive and forget" kinda guy, but after pouring your soul into someone for three years and having them spit in your face, and never even say sorry(chicken really doesnt count)... i would surprised if we got a warm and tranquil Iroh. In the avatar and the firelord. it seemed to me like Iroh was wanting to be very direct and to the point. "here's your headpiece, your great grandfather was the avatar, you have a chance at real redemption, now get to it. ive got chin-ups to do and plans to make." none of the usual small talk. or gradual build-up. anyways, here is a vid i thought you guys would enjoy. www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwK4B7jvjso

anyone notice, how Iroh did not even give a hint to Zuko that he was buff, he still had the pillowthingys under his shirt and whatnot... he's got something planned, and i cant wait to find out what it is. BTW i think Greg is doing a great job of voicing Iroh.
