Matsu looked confused, had he said something to offend her? Well apparently he had. He tried to follow her but was nearly thrown backwards by a rolling mound of sand sent past his way by a sand bender. "Watch it!" The other man spat and Matsu frowned. He was already starting to dislike this journy. Upon seeing all the cargo that was loading though, he changed course. "Can I be of any help?" He asked one of the sandbenders. THe one helping load cargo gave him a look, one that clearly said "You're crippled, I don't want your help nor do I need your help." "Look, I can help, I used to be a soldier. One arm can still help!" It was said quietly though, he was still a shy person. "Fine, load this." THe sandbender shoved something at him and Matsu nearly dropped it but he managed to regain balance as the load teetered in his arm and hand.

"So we'll be riding on these all night?" Fenny eyed the build of the sandsailor dubiously. Before the sandbender could make a snappy reply, however, an older gentleman with a walking stick tottered purposely toward her. "You there! You're a performer, aren't you? I saw you dance at Gaolin in the spring when I was younger." he pointed to her sash as proof. "I am sir, but I believe you are thinking of Star. She was the main dancer before me. She had a hit show in Gaolin and Omashu for a few years: it was very popular. She's settled down now." she told him, trying to get him to calm down. In truth, she had no idea what happened to Star. She didn't even know if she was alive.

A dancer? So that would explain her foreward behavior, Matsu figured you couldn't be shy if you were a dancer. "Pay attention!" Matsu looked back to the sandbender who was handing him another package. "You asked to help! You ain't getting paid either!" Matsu said nothing but quietly took the box

"Will your group be performing in Lotus City?" the old man continued to prod. "No. We... I'm travelling on my own for now." "Ah! Gone solo. You will be performing for the caravan, right?" "I don't think..." "An exotic dancer? Now that's something I'd like to see." One of the young sandbenders stopped moving luggage to join in the conversation, taking Fenny's hand and twirling her around once as he grinned leerily. Unable to think out a better course of action that did not involve slapping the boy and cursing him soundly, Fenny twirled daintily out of his grasp, arabesqued, then bowed deeply from the waist. The old man leaned on his cane and clapped a bit. "Very good!" he added cheerfully, "Just like you did in the show. Tell me, do you still have your old costumes?"

Matsu raised a brow, decided to go and protect Fenny. Maybe protect wasn't exactly the right word, he was sure Fenny could easily take care of herself, and him too if it came to a fight. "Hey! I thought you were helping!" Matsu ignored the protesting sandbender and walked beside Fenny, bowing to the other two men. "Maybe I could be of some assitance for you in a show m'lady Fenny." He said gently looking at her with a small, but mostly forced, smile.

"No no, I think the shows over for today." Fenny brushed some imaginary dust from her hands. "Oh, and stop calling me that. It's just Fenny. ...Wait, is this some kind of subconcious thing to get me to call you m'lord? Because if so, that is really creepy and I'm not doing it unless you buy me a really big house." she added in afterthought. "No sir, I've only got one costume. But we'll see how things go once we get to Lotus City, alright?" she winked at the old man and gave him a winning smile. He tottered off, happily chirping to himself about buying tickets for his grandkids. Once he was gone, Fenny frowned again. "Where did I put my hat?"

"I'm sorry, its just a habit. I was a soldier once, its...forced there." He said blandly, trying to think of a better way to say it.
"WAIT WAIT!!!" Matsu turned to look as a dark skinned woman flew out into the twilight, nearly knocking a few people over. "I'm here, don't leave yet!" The woman stopped and panted as she pressed her hands to her knees. "This desert is horrendous, no water...nothing." She was carrying at least four bags and the water skin at her side was of the finest leather. She unloaded her bags to the nearest sandbender who looked extremley distrungled at having all these bags piled onto him. She turned around her braid snapping with her head as she spied the enormous gawdy gold hat. She picked it up and turned it over in her hands. "You mean this hat?" She said as she looked at Fenny. SHe paused, looked it over and then grinned. "This is simply amazing, where did you get it? I mean I'm really great with fashion and this peice just doesn't seem to fit you." She pursed her lips as she looked at Fenny. She was wearing an outift entirely unappropriate for the desert. She had soft leather shoes on, but while most of the people were wearing rough traveling clothes, hers were glistening and clean.

The earth around the base of the Misty Palms oasis shook suddenly and violently within a span of several seconds. After the abrupt, someone went flying out of the exit of the bar, tumbling across the dusty ground. The dark-skinned man quickly got himself while holding his nose; a small trail of blood trickled from his nose to his lips, which he quickly wiped with his gloved hand. H wore around him what appeared to be an odd shaped waterskin.
A loud voice roared out form the inside the building, “And don’t you dare come crawling back!”
Wiping the blood from his nose, the man responded aloud, “Hey! She didn’t say she had a boyfriend! Tell her I want my money back from those drinks!”
With another sudden tremor a large rock fired from the building heading straight toward the man. Luckily there was plenty of time for him to dodge. After that the man decided not to further instigate the situation and move on. He strolled toward the ice spring while muttering something about women and freeloaders.
Upon standing in front of the ice spring, he held his hand out as a small portion of the ice structure liquefied and then levitated straight toward the man’s face.
Bending the water, Noa splashed his face and hair, and then wiped his face with his palms. Standing up straight, Noa sighed and looked scanned his surroundings. He noticed that the sand sailor was till here; he figured it was gone when there was that last call.
He had planned on staying…with his former acquaintance, who had seduced him to buy her several drinks. He was most probably drinking her irritation from her boyfriend and decided to get friendly before he showed up…at least that’s what he figured.
“I might as well catch this lift here.” He said to himself as he walked over to the sand sailors.

"Uhm, I won it. Gambling, you know." For possibly the first time ever, Fenny was speechless. But it was hard not to be with a very pretty girl wearing something bright purple in the middle of the desert. Out of the corner of her eye, Fenny could see people climbing into sandsailors and starting off. Darn. Looks like they would be stuck with the shoddy one. "...waitaminute! Doesn't seem to fit me? Do you have a problem with the way I dress?" Fenny propped her fists on her waist.

Hati analyzed her for a moment. She sucked on her lower lip then nodded. "That is complety out of fashion and its obvious you didn't know what you were doing when you sewed that peice of work together."
Matsu was to bothered by Hati's hyperactivity to pay attention, instead he turned to the new person who had been roughly turned out of the oasis bar. He looked at the sandbenders who were grumbling and looking at Hati murderously.

Noa adjusted the strap of his waterskin. He saw the sandbenders loading up the last bit of cargo.
"Need any help there?" Noa gave a welcoming smile.
The sandbender retorted "What so you can walk off on me too?!" His was almost tone almost hostile.
Noa scratched his head, "Uh, I don't think we've met...have we?"
The sandbender just grunted and ignored him. "I guess you don't need any help...oh no you don't." He saw as they packed up the last of the bags.
Noa just walked off to hundle with the rest of the passengers. Looking about he noticed two women having a rather stern conversation and several others watching. Among them was a man who apparently had one arm. Noa gave a small "oooo," from the sight of it. But he's seen much worse conditions of the veterans of the previous war. The one armed seemed to be the most calm in the bunch and Noa simply walked over to him and simply asked, "So am I the only one here who thinks everyone here is not in the best of moods?"

Matsu looked surprised at the sudden talking of the new man. "We're all very tense here, with the battles and all going on." Matsu gave him a polite bow, this man appeared to be traveling on the same sand salir they were, might as well be polite. "My name is Matsu."

Fenny was furious. "I sewed it together with one hand tied behind my back. Literally. And excuuuuse me if I didn't have this season's hottest colors on hand when I was pilfering scraps of fabric to make sure I wouldn't be topless when I decided to start searching, okay, princess penny peach?! Stop snickering!" she pointed a finger fiercely at the sandbending boy from earlier. Deep within the basement bar of the Misty Palms Oasis two oil lamps exploaded, much to the surprise of the barkeep. "I suppose you handmake your silks, then?" she finished, nodding at the girl's outfit as she crossed her arms over her chest.

"Why would I do that?" Hati laughed. "My parents own the highest classed spa in the city of Omashu. I have people like you making my silks." She smirked and went to where her purse would be. "Speaking of such, I would love to buy this hat from you. I know you could use the money"
Matsu looked as he felt a wave of heat from the exploding oil lamps, he may have been the only one who noticed but that could have been because he was also a firebender.

Nothing else exploaded. Fenny frosted over at this last comment. "You can't have the hat." Fenny said flatly. "It's mine. I won it, it's my prize, and I'm keeping it. Because however rich you may be, princess," Fenny bent down slightly so her face was in Hati's, "you can't buy the kind of adventures I've had." Fenny filched the hat from the girl's grasp and climbed up on the sandsailor to find a seat.
