I'd prefer if you didn't limit it. I like open ended prompts, it gives you alot of room to be creative.

When is the next prompt going to be up? And the deadlines and such?

New prompt up, and the rules were edited slightly. (For those who care not to look; I just cleaned up the front page a bit and added the new rule: Your entry must be 100-1000 words; all entries will be submitted for ONE contest now.)

*sigh* I could do one, but all of the one shots I've written so far go over 2000 words...-.-
Well, what the heck. I'm new, and I've been writing for a while now, so hey, let's give it a shot!

I would submit an entry, but I like to come up with my own ideas, come up with something that no one else may have an idea for. Bu then again, I'll probably wind up typing something up later and entering it in the morning.^^

I think the fun thing about this is that although you have the original prompt, you can usually take it so many different ways. ^_^ When I was coming up with my entry, I had at least 5 different directions I could have taken it.

ShizukaSakoi: If you come up with something that fits the criteria on the first page, feel free to submit it! @empy: That's the idea of the prompts; to give people freedom to write what they want....and yet see how all the entries connect with one prompt. ;3 And I extended the deadline (of the current contest) to Thursday, January 17th to give everyone more time. I'd like to see some more entries, please! ^^

Sorry if this has been mentioned, but we aren't allowed to base our drabbles off of eppies that haven't aired yet, right? Just checking.

@fruit: Meaning.....base them off of "The Firebending Masters" or "The Western Air Temple" because those episodes haven't aired yet in the U.S.? I'm allowing those episodes, with a spoiler warning before the entries; and you most certainly can speculate about future episodes. (I'm especially allowing the episodes because I have no clue when the episodes are going to air in the U.S. and most people have seen them already and/or the fact that writers can hardly forget about the episodes when writing; I know I can't a lot of times...)

Hmm... I dunno. I don't think it's a good idea to base stories on episodes that haven't aired in the States yet. When you think about it, we from the States have no clue what the episodes are really about or what happens in those episodes, so if you think about it, to say you want to see stories based on episodes that we fans here in the States haven't seen yet sort of gives an unfair advantage to those in Europe and Canada and where ever else those episodes HAVE aired, because they HAVE seen them, and they DO know, so naturally, their stories would be a thousand times better than those of someone who doesn't know. Which is why I'm abstaining from the contests til you put up a prompt I can write. Sorry, cat, but while I'm not proposing a U.S. member boycott of your fic contests, I am suggesting you either come up with different prompts, or suspend contests until the series officially moves forward here in the States, so that way, EVERYONE involved has an equal shot.

So I could enter it, even if it doesnt go with the prompt? It fits the other critieria, like the word limit and stuff.Well, I think Im going to go write something that may fit the prompt better though and enter it tonight. I just needed to see what the prompt was again...before the bell rings.

ShizukaSakoi: No, it has to go with the prompt first before you can enter it. ;] But the entry you PMed me is fine; it goes with the prompt. ;3 @nerull: Well, technically there are places where you can watch the episode online...but nevermind. I completely understand what you're saying; which is why I'm in the spot I'm in now [with these contests]. I just recently got an entry that is post-WAT....so I'm going to allow it for this contest, because I really didn't say anything direct whether or not I was allowing spoilers.....but next contest I'm going to specifically state the position on episodes aired in Canada only.... The thing is; I have no idea WHEN those episodes are going to air, if anytime in the near future. =/ I'll probably put a ban on using episodes post DOBS, though, after this contest, because it's really the only position I can take and be fair to everyone who hasn't seen the episodes, which is quite a lot of people...... ARGH, why does Nick have to be stupid and wait forever to air the episodes!? ._.

That's what I'm saying. And placing a ban on post-*Insert episode title here* stories is the only fair thing to do, cause if the rumors are true, the U.S. won't be getting WAT til March. And if you're going to say yes to that, then 3/4 of the fandom will be up a creek and without a paddle, as the majority of the fandom, us Americans, will not know what's what IF they decide to wait until the official air date of said episode.

Thats mentally challenged, hasnt canada or England or somebody gotten the WAT? Nick shouldnt be withholding the epi's until march! That is just cruel and evil, like how they made the season three release about a year after season two's finale. That was just pure torture!

Like it or not, that's how it's going to be right now. Not everyone can see the episodes and we don't want to spoil things for them if they don't want to be spoiled. There's also a staff policy of no spoilers being released outside the spoiler board so that will also apply here.
