Oooh! This thread is interesting. Hmm.. Well, my name is [very] unique and [very] rare. I get a lot of compliments from people saying they really like my name. So I want my daughter/son to have that same experience! Daughter Name:Oni. To me it's very nice and pretty. It means shelter. Son Name:Dev. Short, sweet, and it's nice. It means divinity. I have a thing for short names. xD Eh...Oni is also the name given to the demons/ogres, etc... in Japanese folklore XD screw japanese folklore! oni is a nice name dammit! >

If I have a girl I'm going to name her either Skye or Amelia. A boy, Liam. I love the name Liam.
For a girl's name I really like Aoifa (Eefa). But I would never do that to my child. I have a name that no one can pronounce and know how annoying that is.

Female Names
Lilianna Iantha Justine Brianna Happy (lol, I didn't think that would actually be a name... Putting this here is mostly a joke, but there are worse things to name a kid.)
Male Names
Domarion Zarek Robert

^ Hey, I actually know a kid named "Zarek." He reflexively told me it was the name of a priest in the Old Testament... I'm not trying to be rude or bossy, but I don't think any kid likes to have to explain their name. Just a thought. Okay... just because there's not 8 kids in your graduating class named "Dev" or "Yuki" doesn't make them NOT names. It must suck to have a name like LaWanda that no one can spell or pronounce, but from someone with the one of most common girl name of her birth year, it's no picnic to have the thing that marks your identity shared by a zillion other people, either. I want to name my children (if they're twins and both girls) Arianna and Arietta...(I don't remember what Arianna meant, but Arietta is a musical term/Italian (No I'm not italion) meaning breezy/airy--not as airy and gentle as Aria, though) If they're both boys and twins, I'd call them Elliot and Emmett. I just like those names... Arietta is a lovely name, just had to say that. I may be wrong, but I think Arianna was the girl in Greek mythology who got turned into a spider for mouthing off to Athena. While we're on Greek mythology though, Gigi, I'm afraid a female Artemis is going to be mocked for the series "Artemis Fowl" where the Artemis is a guy. I'm going with Wenceslas (I researched him, darnit, he's worth naming a child after. If he doesn't like it, he can go by Wes.) or Nathaniel for a boy and Minnabeth or maybe Naomi. They're pretty spellable and pronouncable (plus, Minnabeth comes from "Minna" which is German. Like me. ;D)

So I want my daughter/son to have that same experience! There are disadvantages to having a rare name though. Like, it’s almost always spelled wrong, your chances of getting picked on are higher, and your name is never on those little key chains. Anywho, I’m probably not going to have kids until….ever but I like the names Phil and Emma. Nice but simple.

People still spell my name, Michael, wrong. Even my OLDER brother, and that's frickin' annoying!

^ My grandmother misspells my name and it's only 5 letters long. I would reccomend a name that's not so common there's several different spellings of it, but, if it's unusual, is still pretty. I would like to have two boys, ill name them Adolf and Beelzebub. And a girl i would name Francis Uther Chester Harrisson. Oh, no, Kaneda- what about Judas? Or possibly Benedict? Or Jebezel for a girl?

^Yes. I think that many odd names are very pretty. Ayla is a very pretty name to me. Also Kya. I haven't made up any boy names though......
