Well, since this is CT, a little more needs to be said to make it worthy of a discussion.
Ironicaly, it might not be the acts of animal cruelty, but the fact of his gambling that could shut doen his carrier...

I'm glad he had the mind to plead guilty, at least he retained some sort of respect I had for him.

If it was CT, I would have expanded on my view.

ok you want me to expand my view, what an idiot. he had it all a starting qb job advertisement gigs and one of the most popular selling jerseys. he threw it away by gambling on dog fights and actually executing dogs. what kind of person does that. he is a crazy person. do you think he should be allowed back into the NFL.v because i actually think so after his sentence of course.

That last one is untrue. Dogfighting is not a sport, it's animal cruelty. I think he should get put behind bars for life, or at the very least banned from the NFL.

one marbury is an idiot. two he should not be put behind bars because that what happens to people who kill people, i think he needs to give money to animal shelters serve a year at most in prison and retur nto the NFL.

Than you are as crazier then the people you want him be let off easy! The whole ordeal is beyond reprehensible! The man not only derived pleasure in pitting otherwise peacefull animals against each other, no telling how many times (and do not forget, the 'training' involved life bait as well!) he also had a hand in 'culling' the losers... wonder id he ever thought about that he, too loses at times...shall we electrocute QBs who get sacked or you throw interceptions? Or hang them?!

let me tell you this and the nget bombarded by everone else in the forum. he was using pitbulls. whats the most frequent dog in human attacks that you hear about on the news? pitbulls. so they fought its in their blood to do so. what creeps me out is that he executed dogs and not paying them any attention.

Yes, he was using pitbulls, but no they do not frequently attack humans. There are other 'nice' breeds who attack in much greater numbers. I am sure the fighting lines are picked for more aggressiveness when breeding... But that is the tragedy in the whole thing...the dogs are doomed, they cannot be released after their time is done, they will be put down. There is no home for them to go to. And let's not forget: The Training also involved baiting with live animals, be it pigs or other, less aggressive dogs, some times (in case of the not so rich owners ) stolen, or cats or what have you! It's just dog fighting... or likening it to hunting?! Gimme a break... I have no illusions, the gambling will have greater impact on the sentencing than the animal cruelty charges, he won't be in jail long...but he should not be allowed to play another down of pro football...

Or hang them?! The conclusion to your post was completely awesome. Sometimes I feel that way while watching a game.In my mind there is no need to analyze the details of the crime. It's animal cruelty at it's worst, no matter the breed, circumstances, etc. He needs to face the maximum penalties for it, and I personally hope they are steep. What irks me, is the fact that he is in the national spotlight all the time. A role model. I don't care what highly paid athletes say, they are role models. I feel irked because I feel that the NFL coddles their stars like an ignorant parent who coddles their brat. Vick needs to face punishment, and the stigma of his crime, just like anyone else would. I even hope for the day that the NFL and other pro leagues actually hold their employees to a higher standard than most employers do.
