Bonds doesn't deserve the record. Just to make sure, you are talking about his alleged juicing, right? If so, I agree. Unfortunately, I have really lost interest in baseball due to things like this. It makes you wonder how many other players 'cheat'. The magic just isn't there for me.

And wait they all cheat, you can't sit there and say that Bonds is the only one on steriods...please(clemens anyone) And I'm hearing there is a lot of fuss now that he broke Aaron's record. Of course it's about Race it's always about race and what some people are sticking in as steriods. So if he's on steriods why get all worked up, the record means sh*t then...right?

Did any of you guys watch ESPN after Bonds broke the record? All the analysis guys were talking about is how A-Rod will break what ever Bonds new record is and maybe even hit 800. I thought it was somewhat unprofessional. Though I do agree with the rest of you, he doesn't deserve to break the record.

Um, no, race has nothing to do with it. I couldn't care less whether you're black, white, hispanic or Asian, nobody does. Know why nobody cares about Mar McGuire? Because anything he's done has already been surpassed. And yeah, there are a lot of cheaters, but if you're about to break the greatest record anybody's ever known because you took steroids, you don't deserve it.

Fine okay you yankee lovers I will take that back but I'll just add this, I don't believe that he is a contsistenly good player. Ok so he has a few HR's and wins, but that doesn't make him the greatest player ever. He's not a good clutch player and why are they paying him 26 million{ok I know thats kind of irrelevant but still). Well some people say that he is very good. So fine, if you guys can offer evidence of him being a good player, I'll shut up. But then again Yankee fans are saying it's their pitching and not A-Rod, or it is A-Rod. Well I could care less because I'm a Met's fan. Speaking of the Mets, I am so happy for Glavine, he deserved it. He's a dang good pitcher, along with Maine. CK/Nero what are you talking about, of course this mostly has to do with race. But you, fortunately are part of the minority of a few that can see past that. I was talking in terms of the majority that can't. But you're right it doesn't mean anything, and probably down the road someone else will pass him, and we'll all forget it ever happened. Oh yeah here is the link that I got it from{the race issue}------- origin.contracostatimes.com/rickhurd/ci_6546541?click_check=1There was also a better site, but that's all I could find as of now. EDIT:ok that's not really the article I was looking for. It talked about it briefly but that's it. I can't find the better one still. EDIT 2: Ok found some new bull to back up my dying claim, but this still wasn't what I was looking for so I'll give up....for now: ------------------- ------------------------ As Bonds exceeds Aaron’s home run total, many Americans like to believe that as a nation we have placed race behind us. But the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005 well demonstrates that the United States still has a long way to go in exorcising our demons of race. Of course, in the case of Bonds and Aaron we are talking about two black men. This fact, however, has not prevented Bonds from receiving death threats. Public opinion polls indicate that there is a racial divide between blacks and whites in their perception of Bonds. An articulate and angry black man does not resonate well with white Americans—and it is interesting to note that many baseball fans seem much more willing to forgive baseball’s all-time hits leader Pete Rose for his gambling transgressions. However, many insist that their opposition to Bonds is not about race, but rather the fact that the San Francisco star is allegedly achieving his record through the use of illegal steroids. Of course, drugs are nothing new to the game as is well illustrated in Jim Bouton’s Ball Four with accounts of amphetamines easily available during the 1960s and early 1970s. And Mickey Mantle, one of baseball’s great heroes of the post World War II period, struggled with issues of alcohol abuse.

Just because we think A-Rod is a good player doesn't mean that we're 'Yankee lovers'. Please try to stay away from generalizations like that. =)
While he may occassionally have weeks where he doesn't hit well, and he may not always hit when the team needs it most, you can't ignore the fact that his homerun and RBI numbers are consistently good. He holds so many records that it's really not plausible that he's a 'horrible' player. He may not be the best, but that's no reason to think he's awful.
