Anybody else play coed? You can't get me on the girl's field. I played co-ed until the sixth grade...I had some pretty sexist coaches.

Same here. But I had more trouble with the players. It was pretty funny after a while tho. Guys on the other team would start saying crap & my guys would go after them.
The absolute best one: guy on the other team calls me a "sissy girl". One of my teammates askes if he has a death wish. Later in the game I nearly broke his nose & when we played them again, I sent him off the field crying. I didn't hurt him, I scored on him!

Lol. Nobody has ever, ever called me a sissy or whatever. I dare them to do so. Bwa-Ha. Yesh, I played co-ed until 6th when I started playing for my school. (I play co-ed during the summer, though. . . It really doesn't matter much. Almost as good as them, getting better. ) It's not really a matter of sexism Seabiscuit, guys are just built differently then girls are and are a bit more agressive when playing. I never took any offense to it, although it's playing with my guy friends that helps me get better. Sure, I lose to them. . . But not as badly as I used to. And because of that I cream all the girls. So I think seperate teams for the guys and girls is a good idea. Not neccessarily saying they're better always but... you know.

I just don't fit in on the girls field. I tried playing girls for my school team, really bad idea. I hated every minute of it. With the guys team there's just less drama. We're friends off the field & on it. I didn't see that much with the girls teams.
But I completely disagree on the guys are more aggresive part. Guys are rough, girls are savage. Very few guys go shoulder to shoulder with me unless I'm trying to hip check them.

^ I agree with most of what your saying.
For a while I was good friends with the guys on the team, and they definitely played more aggressively--which did nothing but help us. In the end it wasn't worth it because the three other girls on my team and I NEVER got any field time, even though we were just as good as the guys.

One of the reasons I love AYSO, you are guaranteed field time.

I used to play co-ed. Now I play for my school and they seperate the girls and the guys, I don't have much of a problem with the drama because a lot of us are actually really good friends. Even though I play for an all girls team, off the soccer field in my neighboorhood I vs. the guys. It was actually funny. The most annoying pest on my block kept saying I suck and everything, then when I was playing against him, I destroyed him. Then after the game I chased him around with a stick to beat him up all the while yelling, "WHO SUCKS NOW!?!?!" But yeah, back to the point, I don't play co-ed on a team....

LMAO Dazu. Sounds familar. My best friend, who was on my team, was sleeping over after practice. The best two guys on the team had been jerks throughout practice, & they were both staying at our coaches house. My dad stopped there on the way home, & let us chase them all around the house. My friend threw one into a tree & I chased the other one into a brick wall!

Why are there only girls here? o.0 Surely a few other guys play? Although it's good to see lots of girls here. The US's women's team is awesome, as compared to the men's team... XD I LOVE SOCCER! I play for my high school team (although I'm not Varsity yet... ^^ and I love indoor. I've played coed indoor the last two seasons, and it's been pretty easy. There's only been one game where we got really burned (a superstar girl who's got to be on the junior Olympic team scored 8 goals against us, en route to a 13-1 loss...). But we got 4th and 3rd in those two years. I play defender, usually a right winger who likes to take long shots and get forward into the attack.

So do we have any more players? The fall season is starting up. My first game was yesterday, I have the injuries to prove it.
We played 7 v 11 almost the whole game. We started with 9 & lost two players immediately to injury. Coach wanted to forfeit, I refused. So my whole team is sore thanks to the captain's stupidity. *banging head on desk*

Well, now my stupidity won't matter. I've pulled my quad so I'm handing over captain for a while.
