I love this series, it was a nice shift from the other books I've read. I have read all of them up to 12. But one of my friends spoiled the ending for 13 so I'm kinda irked but I'll still get it and read it for myself.

whats funny(i have read all 14 books) is that there are actually 14, in the end of the 13th there is a small like 10 page book part in it, it has the same beginning with like the picture and stuff. My favorite one is The Erzats Elevator, The Hostile Hospital, The Carnivorous Carnival, and The Penultimate Peril.

I have 1-13, The Unauthorized Autobiography of Lemony Snicket, and Letters from Beatrice. I also got the new one that came out. Tales of Horseradish? Or something.. Horseradish. I like the series and started reading them when they first came out, so when I was about 13 I started reading them. I really like the dry humor the books have. In the end I ended up feeling bad for Count Olaf However the entire point of the series is that all the real answers are hidden, you just have to know how to find it. A lot of questions are answered. I'd reccomend reading the other two. Any fansites or offical sites that really help out that someone wants to point me towards? My favorite book of the series though is The Reptile Room, I don't know why but I love that one.

I was actually in a fanclub called 'The Snicketeers'. =o
I loved these books, and I think the reason for the ending was because VFD was whatever you thought it wa to be. Whether it was the 'Voulenteer Fire Department' or one of the other rather annoying things that started with VFD. The series was such a twisted world that it showed you a little something about our own world. Our imagination kept the story going and gave it an end and gave it meaning. The books really had no clear lesson to learn, you had to look deeper. And by looking deeper you could see the similarities between the Baudilaires world and ours.
So well written, so freaking awesome.

I've read all 13, and loved them all except for the very end of the 13th. Not only was I completely lost, I thought it was a really bad way to end something that had been happening for so long. Plus, I really wanted to know what happened to the Quagmires, and he doesn't tell you!!!!

They're actually books?? I watched the movie and absolutely loved it,guess I got some reading to do. The one with Jim Carrey? That movie has horrible!! If you read the first three books, then you'll see how they shredded the books when making it into a movie. Jim Carrey is NOT meant to be a bad guy. Count Olaf is not THAT weird.

No way,Jim Carrey is the best, and he played the part well. I still havent read the books, but I'm sure its not that bad.

I think he means like that time where he wrote like 2 paragraphs explaining about the water cycle. Which in retrospect is useful but only if you don't know anything about the water cycle. xD
