The Guardians of Time Trilogy is a mix between fantasy and historical fiction, in which children from modern-day Australia travel back in time to save history from being changed by the Goddess of Chaos, Lathenia. The plot and emotions are wonderful, and although the author, Marianne Curley, took on the challenge of having 9+ main characters, her characterization never fell through. The Guardians of Time Trilogy is very humorous - any story is, when there are mind-readers and romance - and there are many more situations where humor is potential to the observant eye. I loved how Marianne Curley characterized the girls, without degrading the male population either, other than Isabel freaking out constantly, thinking everyone around her is sexist. There is also a lot of talk of soulmates and friendship versus love, and I absolutely adore the Arkarian x Isabel coupling. They are so cute together! And on Fanfiction.net, there are many, many wonderful fanfictions, and Marianne Curley is considering writing more, so don't mourn the end of the series quite yet! Edit: Cleaned up the title.

*Karmas* It's been a long time since someone has mentioned this series. It's a pity that Rochelle had to die, but it is a very well crafted series. The thought of Marianne Curley considering to expand the series is encouraging

Yay! All my friends think I am crazy, though. As soon as they think I am over GOT, I crack open the Dark again, and I cannot stop talking about it for at least a week. Yeah, Marianne Curley said in the FAQ on her site that she was considering writing a sequel. I wrote her a couple of times (before she hid her email), and she seemed quite surprised how much people liked GOT. (I read Old Magic, too, but GOT was so much better.)
