I've read Inkheart, and it was really good! But then I tried reading Inkspell, and I got bored. XD Then again, I'll try to read it again, just because.

I'm liking it so far. When I started I was afraid it was going to be too much like the Never Ending Story, I'm glad it didn't work out that way.

I absolutely loved this book series, and I can't wait until the next one comes out. I think it was briliant, beautifully written, and had incredible characterization. I think that the thing I liked best about the book, however, was the presence of real danger. So many American books are just sugar and fluff and 'be careful we can't emotionally scar the children' and there is a complete lack of anything really dangerous.
There were guns, there were murderous bad men, there were ropes and chains and dungeous, even the beloved character Dustfinger carried a knife and used it to threaten people!
No, I don't think wanton violence and scary scenes in excess are a good thing, but it was nice to see a children's book that stuck a little closer to reality, despite its fantasy genre. The people acted like real people, and I loved that.

OMG, I loved those books. The plotline was very original, and Dustfinger is my new favorite antihero, along with House. Also, according to IMDB, there's a movie in the making for it. Link here.
