I tried writing, but its not my thing. I can come up with kick arse plot, characters, etc, but when i try writing it down i get bored and have difficulty... ya know... writing. Instead i get the story in videogame format through the use of RPG MakerIm definitely not cut out to be a writer. (Although i have signifigantly less diffficulty with screenplays) Psst, write a hawt Kanacs book. I bet you'd have no problem with that.

I've written my first book which is about as long as Harry Potter 2 and I'm currently trying to get it published, and currently I've started writing a Trilogy but I'm not mentioning the names / what’s the books about (All I'll say is that they're all Sci-Fi) until I get them published

I don't really write books anymore. I did write one, but I look at it now, and it was horrible. I never tried to get it published. I like to write, but I have too much difficulty developing things the way I want them to go, so I'm putting the dream off for a while while I try to develop the skills necessary to be a successful writer.

Well . . . I try. Everyone says it's awesome, but then I don't and I start all over again. I got fifty six pages at one point . . . *sigh* But one of my friends is such a great author! In a year, she wrote two 200-page novels! The first was admittedly slow, but I loved the second; there was a ton more action and cool characters, and much more funnies! Her little brother is my boyfriend, and she won't let him read. He keeps begging me, but I signed a contract. *sigh* If only she could see how much he supports her.

I like writing, and I actually have alot of ideas. The problem is is that my writing is that of a 3rd grader so none of those ideas go anywhere. I'm able to think of ideas, characters, a plot, but if it comes right down to it, I can't write.

My recent story is a new version of Cinderella. But that cinderella then is a guy, just like the prince. GAY TIME! Oh, I laugh! Anywho . . . I've been writing since I was about nine, but I've only recently started to take my stories seriously. I'm plotting a novel at the moment --- urban fantasy, for anyone who reads that particular genre. As long as we're sharing, here's a lil' tidbit from my novel: - - - Just over two months ago, the little coastal town would have been brimming with noisy tourists, drawn to the sea for a bit of water and salt-laced maritime air to improve their health and sunburn their complexions sienna. But swimming seasons had ended, and the scenic beaches were bleached monochrome under an uneventful gray sky, waves crashing despondently black rocks like the skeletons of wrecks. The town perched precariously against the sea; the rocky beach at the bottom separating land and the vast expanse of gray water. Spirits rode on the combed heads of swaying waves. When you close your eyes at night, you can hear the mermaids sing. - - - I'm not quite sure where it'll fit in with the story, lol. I might post more later.

Hey- never, EVER compare yourself to your writing friends. It does not help. Cheer for them and write at your own pace, and they'll do the same for you. (Believe me, my best friend can write on this monumental scale I can't even hope to comprehend. But we're all just learning, and we all learn at different rates. Bamboo trees barely grow for the first five years then shoot up at a foot a month. Comparing yourself to your friends is just as discouraging as checking a three-year-old bamboo tree for signs of life. You'll get there someday, but not if you worry about the trip.) Dazu: lol, so?

Well, that's just about the most inspirational thing I've ever heard. *karmalizes* I feel a sudden urge to go out and finish that novel of mine! Or at least finish plotting it, lol.

I'm a writer with hopes and dreams of being published, which I would love to have happen someday.
Anyway, I do write stories, it's what I enjoy doing. I'm currently working on four big ones now, especially my recent idea which I'm really excited about. It's entitled "The Guardians," it's a fantasy, post apocalyptic type centering around two key characters, who are a fantasy animal I created. Of course, the story itself is under heavy development so I won't fall into the predictable cliches. Same with some of my other stories as I wrote them back when I was only a starting writer and did not know much about how to write properly.
Strangely, most of my stories involved animals of some kind because it stems from me being such an animal lover. Though I have a couple of ideas in the works about plots featuring human main characters.

Like I have posted once in this thread, I am in the middle of writing something. It's gone through tons of changes, so I keep putting it off -_-;; Anyways, here's a raw version of the first chapter because I'm too lazy to edit. Btw, it's tentatively titled "Velvet Death". The only sound Arden could hear was her own heartbeat. Rapid and ferocious, her heart pumped as hard as a galloping horse. Her face was beaded with sweat, her throat hot and sore. She clutched her bow tightly, willing the disenchanting ambiance to vanish. Where was she?
The buildings looked like they were made of black and white velvet. Tall, ornate spires pierced the satin gray sky, and the frosty scent that hovered in the air was tantalizing and sweet. The morbid abundance of black and white roses that grew everywhere from the ground, along the walls of the velvety buildings, and even in the trees struck Arden as odd. Wherever she was, the only colors she saw were black, gray, and white.
A dream maybe?
Arden was standing in the middle of a courtyard. Only two roads branched off from it, and at her side a tall, regal fountain stood with diamond water flowing down the many tiers of the structure.
Fear started to bud in her chest, and quickly spread through her body like a disease. She could sense somebody watching her.
Arden glanced down the roadways, but it was hard to see through the mist.
She locked eyes on something. Her heart skipped a couple beats when she realized it was a person, standing perfectly motionless at the end of one of the roadways. The way he stood so rigidly made it appear that he was painted into the scenery, just a mirage. She blinked; he was still there.
The moonlight lit up his face. The instant she caught his eyes she felt a chill in her bones. They were provoking, but there was a sick beauty about them that hypnotized Arden.

And Para is still my 'wannabe editor' though she does an awesome job I hope to have this story finished in the beginning of January, but considering I'm so bad at updating anything, who knows what will happen
