Wel, I was messing around with Kataras style the other day, and I found that by taking a shopstick, tightly winding the end if the 'loopie' hairstrand around it and then putting it into the ponytail actually works, it make the end say in the ponytail. I used a chopstick only couse the ones i have in my room are glazed, and they seem to work well!^^ (But you do have to take the chopstick out of your hair) It actaull worked, i was surprised

I bet her loopies are fake. Like she's got a pair of customized hair strands that she just clips onto her hair every morning and takes off every night. Kind of like really unnecessary wig.

Katara: The Last Hairbender
Actually, my hair used to be about as long as Katara's and I tried to put it up like hers was in s1 and 2, and I failed miserably.

I think that maybe she has layered hair and that: 1:She takes top layer and curls it around the blue thingy in her bun and attaches it somehow 2:She braids bottom layer 3:She has left a strand of hair at the front on each side for loopies,so she puts a bead on the top,and then somehow attaches it to bun. I don't know how she attaches the things that need attaching, though.

I have been working on this forever and I think I got it ...
All you do is (like I said before) you put your hair in a high pony flip it under the elastic and braid it and for the loopies yes you can use a chopstick put I use bobby pins and you can keep them in and no one knows

I get the part about splitting it into two ,but there is something I don't understnad is how she makes the bun sideways and how she connects the bun with the Braid. When you look at it from the side you can see it come from the bun like she rolls part of it and braids it down the rest of the way. I even tried it once but after I got the bunrolled up I didn't have much hair for the braid.

Her hair is still bothering me. Does anyone else realize how thick and wavy it is? It's like a rat's nest in thickness. Maybe it's the humidity, like what happened to Monica.

Water tribe people may all have naturally thick hair, as part of living in a really cold place... Thick hair keeps you warm better... Maybe...

Well I have to be diffucult and say, I don't think Katara does the half bun-half braid thing in my opinion. Because I figured out you take out two peices of hair for the loopie then make a little loop that lloks like the circular thing in her hair then I braid from the loop down then I put beads at the top of the loopie and put beads at the bottom where I shove the loopies into the loopand katara hairstyle, by the way the horizontal thing in my opinion is not how she does it because if you look she has a semi part that i get when my hair is in a low pony tail all day, so there's my two cents.
I got dared to do the katara hait style since I'm always talking about avatar and I was showing my drawings and one of my friendsaid, Carol-Anne i dare you to do your hair like hers, *points at Katara*.

Katara: The Last Hairbender Actually, my hair used to be about as long as Katara's and I tried to put it up like hers was in s1 and 2, and I failed miserably. My hair is a smidgen shorter than hers, and I almost had it once. I have tried repeatedly to do it again, and I have failed every time. Guess I should've taken a pic when I had it the first time. I give up; but I still love Katara's hair. Maybe when I'm done being frusterated I'll try again.

My daughter is the little chibi Katara that won the 3rd place in the Halloween contest. Wow, I had a time trying to get that going! I ended up taking a Velcro roller and wrapping her hair around it for that weird loop above the braid.
