I've never tested how good I am on a national level, or even the state level, but nobody in Montclair or any of the local tournies has ever beaten me =/
Which is why I'll like Brawl. I'll finally have some real competition for sure. Probably even people who'll take me, throw me around the ring like a rag doll, and then kill me several times while they make themselves a sammich.

Basically an aerial dodge but on the ground. More effective than rolling.

Basically an aerial dodge but on the ground. More effective than rolling. Thanks, Kan, for both answering it and not giving the specifics. Let's see if Shini-Skye here knows how to pull one off? ^_^;; It's a shame, Samus's Peach's, and Zelda's WD's suck.

All this talk of competition is making me wish I had friends offline, so I could play them in Brawl when it comes out. Oh, well, Brawl is shaping up to be a truly awesome game, so I'd have a blast with it, regardless. Can't help but wonder who else is going to be in it?
And whoever doesn't like Zelda's new look deserves to be shot *Looks directly at Tungsten* cause she looks freaking HOT! *rhyme not intended.*

Wavedashing is an advanced technique in SSBM that appears to make your character slide forwards or backwards. In reality, your character is air-dodging forwards or backwards. This is a very effective technique that sets your character up for attacks, grabs, or combos.
As mentioned before, wavedashing is highly versitile as it prepares your character for practically anything.
1.With your joystick, hold down and tilt slightly to the left or right (to go forwards or backwards, respectively), then continue with the following button combination executed in quick successions after another: X ~ R ~ ... ~ *attack, grab, or combo* 2. jump with your character (short jump recommended), then immediately follow with down-left/right + R
There you go Cyanide.

It's a shame, Samus's Peach's, and Zelda's WD's suck. Samus's WD is of critical importance, since her roll is awful and she needs proper spacing in order to get off her grab (missiles, too). Without it her odds of beating anybody who's faster than she is (Fox, Marth, Sheik, Falco, Falcon). It's a decent WD, too; it doesn't compare to Luigi's or anything, but by no means does it suck. =/ Peach's WD is pretty bad, but not so bad that you refrain from using it. Her WD is gigantic in the C Falcon matchup. Guys like Marth who don't let you camp have to be knocked around a lot by turnips before you can get inside their guard. It's harder to WD effectively in the Marth matchup than in the Falcon matchup, but if you can do it right you can actually put up a fight (you'll still lose, though, unless you're twice as skillful as your opponent, the matchup is horrible). And yes, Zelda's WD is bad. But who cares, nobody plays Zelda when Sheik is so much better. ;x
