Mike: Keep the discussion of this thread strictly to the topic of Fable. You can ask that kind of question in the right thread for it or in a PM. Or at least ask it along with content about Fable.

WIN TRAILERS ARE WIN. The cause me to twinge in grief knowing that I have to wait another year or so to get it when Microsoft stops being stupid and releases it for the PC. >< Mike I shall answer you via PM

Eh, I'm glad the xbox is getting an exclusive RPG. Especially Fable since that's one's more fitting for the xbox. Although I do feel sorry that you're one of the people who's going to suffer. And it's not microsoft, as far as I know they have no control over whether it can go on PC. If Lionhead really wanted it they could've got fable2 for PC. And, I blame all of this on those imbosals who're mad when a port of a game (Portable games not included) is the same as what it was ported off of. I get it if you're tuning up the graphics for the PS3 or PC version or tuning them down for the 360 or PC version. And I know that it would get frustrating if the tutorial wasn't re-made for different consoles (imagine you're sitting on your computer "press square to hit this guy" when you should be pressing f). But other than that ports should basically be the same as what they were ported off.
NOw, enough of my nerd ranting.
I'm going to kill someone if divorce is still 60 times as evil as murder. Can anyone here ever think of a scenario where divorcing your wife who you met 3 minutes ago, married one minute ago, have no kids with, have never slept with (according to stats), is worse than killing her and 58 friends? Which reminds me of something my god Benjamin Yahtzee Croshaw said, this game should seriously iron out the balance issues, he claims in the lost chapters you get an evil pentagram spell that is extremely overpowered.
On a less critical note:
What do you think of the dog mechanic? Do you think the game will be expanded via patches instead of having to buy "fable2 the lost book"? And will this game be remembered by gaming history?

I think it's more because of game mechanics, than actual ethics. Murder comes is going to come up a lot, I mean a freakin' lot. But Divorce won't happen as much, hell it happens a b***h of a lot less, the heavy load of evil(corruption, I'm assuming.) points may even be a punishment for pure(Good) characters.

I know murdering happens a lot. But that shouldn't de-grade how many evil points it gives you. Why make things harder than they are in real life? In real life if you have a life goal of being an evil a** you can acomplish it pretty quickly.

In real life if you have a life goal of being an evil a** you can acomplish it pretty quickly. Sure it is. But I think the point is for people to climb up the ladder of evil on the choices they make, rather than how many people they kill. That may be the case, I may be wrong. Plus I think you get Corruption points from divorce rather than Evil. It's really in depth this time around, I'm really looking forward to it.

I think if you set out on being evil than you shouldn't have to climb a ladder. And I'm fine with the choices you make having more of an effect than a murder, but I don't think a divorce would count.

So . .. . anyone played it yet?
Edit: Only bump a thread when you have something new to add to the conversation. Thank you.

I have. It's a very good game. Definitely lives up to the hype. However it is annoying that you need to spend expierience to learn how to block and flourish. And you can't use items from the D-pad anymore as far as I can tell so now you have to hit pause and go through all of these menus just to use pots. And I really don't see where the depth is in the combat system. I know it is there and I would love to sink my teeth into it but I can't see the subtle hits mid-fight that tell you when to hit X again to start a combo or whatever. But enough with the bad parts of the game. The game actually gives you the feeling that you're poor and crawling up the economic chain since you actually need to work to get money but eventually it works for you. You get money by buying shops and houses, for shops you just set the prices (low to get less money but purity points, high to get more money and corruption points) and you're done. For houses you can live in them or put them up for rent, and when you put them up for rent as long you didn't kill the old owner they're probably gonna move back in instantaneously and you can adjust rent for them to. You have to pay less per shop or house if you killed the owner (who is normally the person who sells you the items but isn't always) or they like you. Marriage is a bit of a hassle now since your family actually takes money from you every hour (You decide how much but I haven't found out yet). But the family members are too quick to divorce you. Right now I'm getting one grand per in game hour And I love how the good and evil works now. Although I do which it took more evil points to be full on evil since I'm as evil as you get because I tried to get rid of the gold I got from the pub games since I didn't want to unbalance myself. I thought the only way to get rid of it was to murder so many people the fines from the guards would take all the money away, the fine is 500 gold per kill and I had 250k so that was problematic since I wanted my first playthrough to be good. Now my next one will be good, the one after that will be evil, and the one after that I'll do whatever I would actually do in X scenario. But now you don't just get the choice between evil baby eating and mother theresa. Sometimes you get two good options but one gives you more good points. And, man's best friend. While I don't feel a deep rooted attatchment to the dog I feel as much as I would if it were a real dog doing what this dog in game is doing. But since I've only spent 10 Real world hours with him (and in the game he's 25 and still kicking ) and only 10 minutes were focused on him good job molenuex. Edit: Ok, I got to the end. And the evil choice really is evil and there actually is a middle ground. In my opinion the middle ground is what 99% of the people in the universe would take and it makes the other two into just choices for those making an effort to be extremely evil or good......Or are Hitler. I do however wish there were a better final boss battle. That battle was made out of fail and the only thing that could've saved it from the suck would be having the hero from Fable1 come back from the dead (which I guess would have to be in his most neutral form ) to fight you. Or Maka and/or Chrona and/or Stein and/or Death The Kid from Soul Eater(but, they can make any fight a good fight. You can be fighting a can of rootbeer but if they're in the backround it's the best fight ever). Or Yahtzee Croshaw. Or................Darth Vader. But atleast it didn't feed into my pet peeve of the main villain always being extremely strong no matter how out of character it is.

I was rather disapointed with the final boss in Fable I as well, but eh.
Sounds like a pretty awesome game, though. I almost have my dad talked into buying a Xbox 360, but he probably wouldn't get it for a while. >_>

The end boss in Fable1 can not compare to the suck you find in the end of Fable 2.
Also, I have the ultimate evil character and wish there was a PVP system. I can beat anyone in the universe with this guy.

Gah, really? -_-'
PVP would be AMAZING. The online system they do have is still pretty cool. Have you used it at all?

Yes. And above that I don't think there is a single boss that you get to fight without his/her minions obliterating you. Which doesn't sound that bad in theory but trust me it sucks. When you're fighting the rock troll you want to concentrate on him. And there's one boss who I thought was great but his minions ruined it for me because he felt like just one in a cluster**** not a main boss. And that would've been ok if those morons didn't replace themselves.
Sorta. It works as a chatroom if you use certain settings. I went co-op once but one match is never a reliable way to test how things work on Xbox live.

I hate when the boss has fifty billion millions. The fons of minons are harder to kill than the boss themself! ><

I know. I mean , they could just make the boss harder. Or not let the minions respawn. If the guy walks in with 6 guards, once I kill the guards I should be able to focus.
Also, I just realized, Peter's "one button combat" isn't his original design. Devil May Cry did it first, and does it better. They just didn't make a point of advertising.
