GTA: Vice City, it's fun to listen to the best of the 80's while driving on the side walk, avoiding the police, The SWAT team and FBI... the army...

Metal Gear Solid.
The general soundtrack and the main theme are quite good, but "The Best is Yet to Come" and "Calling to the Night" are excellent.
The song "Snake Eater" has an acquired taste, but i personally like it.

All the Final Fantasy games have good music. (Vll and X I'm more familiar with.) The Golden Sun franchise (shame they may not have a third game, but they did finish the series), Shenmue, Chrono Trigger, Zelda (particularly Ocarina of Time), Street fighter EX3 (they had some decent tracks), Dead or Alive, and Tekken all had great soundtracks.

I love the music from Fable, and I had no idea that my favorite composer (Danny Elfman) composed it. Sweeet.

Any soundtrack by Nobuo Uematsu and Koji Kondo. Those two are amazing. I also enjoy the Disgaea series' soundtracks. I think it was Tenpei Sato who did those.

The song "Snake Eater" has an acquired taste, but i personally like it. You snatched the words from my fingers. I agree with you 100%. I love the MGS songs. It's the first thing that captivates me when the game starts. [Usually I skip the intro and start playing the games or lower the volume because I can't stand the songs.] They even placed the songs on the right scenes. The songs fit perfectly. LittleBIGPlanet also has some fantastic songs. Sometimes, I try to sing along. I fail most of the time So, I hum.XD;; I love the song in the level where you have to save Uncle Jalapeño. Best song everrrr.

Oh, I don't remember ever posting in this thread, but if I have, what I said before. And even if I haven't, I LOVE the soundtracks for Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber and Final Fantasy IX. Gotta tip my hat to Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Kirby 64, both Zelda N64 games, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Skies of Arcadia: Legends, though. All these games, and many others I don't feel like listing right now, have songs, if not that, then the entire soundtrack, that I absolutely love. Definitely Chrono Trigger and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Those two games alone have my favorite soundtracks to them. And Radiata Stories has many great works to it as well.

Shadow of the Colossus. Epic might be an overplayed way to describe things, but it perfectly describes the soundtrack for this game.
In addition to the composers I posted here years ago (wow I've been pretty much dead for a while XD), I love the stuff Shoji Meguro does (Shin Megami Tensei series). Fans of Guilty Gear and BlazBlue are probably fans of Daisuke Ishiwatari's work for the soundtracks. And Masashi Hamauzu has steadily been climbing up my list of favorite VGM composers.
