I'm planning on getting the PS2 version for Christmas because I'm broke and my parents have spent enough money lately to them a little while. I don't play a lot of video games, but I'm going to get it because it's Avatar (I guess that was Nick and THQ's plan wasn't it?).

I like the game. In fact I'm playing it right now. I also could have swarn that I saw a Zutara moment too. It was at the begining of the game when the water benders were fighting with the firebenders. Zuko was in charge of the mission, and he looked over at Katara and smiled. Ohh looks like someone might have a little crush on you Katara! He he he.

The DS version is pretty good (looks like it was developed by Tose, not THQ), but I'm rather irked with the GC version. Especially when it comes to the character graphics, and the lack of conclusion after some non-major events. The DS game runs much smoother, even though it uses a condensed version of the console story. Plus the character sprites pwn their awful 3D counterparts
Also, I seem to have run into a significant glitch near the tea house & library in Omashu. Just going next to or into the tea house, or talking to the guard in front of the library makes the game freeze and sets off this loud high-pitch tone. Has anyone else run into this problem on any of the console versions?

Do the stories share similar traits? Or is yours better?

Do the stories share similar traits? Or is yours better? The stories are all pretty much the same (although the GBA is even more slimmed down, and from what I've heard the PC version is COMPLETELY different). But there are fewer pointless tasks in the DS version, and there are MANY quotes used from the show. There are also mini-games and small skits that either show off the characters' personalities or are similar to the humor or events found in the show. It seems like the people from Tose are bigger fans of the show than the people from THQ. I haven't finished the GC version (I'm stuck at the library in Omashu), so I can't really compare the entire storyline to the DS yet. But from what I've seen, many of the major events are the same, just slightly handled differently. And the smaller events are handled better too. Like when Aang and Sokka snag some Firebender suits in chapter 2, there's this little skit where they talk/joke about it, complete with varying expressions. But in the GC version, after they get the suits they just stand there for a moment and Sokka has a textbox with a much shorter version of what he says in the DS. There's a lot of "just standing there" after you complete an event throughout the GC game, and it really irritates me. If we're going to go through all of the trouble of collecting these items or helping these people or creatures, the least we can get is a little scene or group expression or something, not just the Gaang standing there like there's an enemy nearby. >_<

Blarg, I hated the game, I finished it in less than a day and the ending make no sence whatso ever. If you want to play it, I advise you to RENT it, don't buy it, it's very easy and corny and I bet anyone could finish it in less than two days. The plot was lame and didn't fit with the actual story plot with avatar. the catch frases and movies were lame and cheesey, it was a lame game and I'm very disapionted. I have all the cheat codes if you want them.
