Ha...I just watched "Castle in the sky"! It's pretty good. Is it one of his earlier anime's because the animation is sorta different from the others.

Hmm, I read about that, I'll have to see it.
Wait a minute isn't the sequel to HMC called "Castle In The Sky"?

Uh, no..... The two are completely different stories and movies. No, she's referring to "Castle in the Air," the sequel to the HMC novel. A coincidence. Castle in the Sky was also Miyazaki's worst movie. Excluding Porco Rosso, which I have yet to see.

My kids watched Howl's Moving Castle last weekend for the first time, on CN. They were so enthralled with it, I had to go on a mad scavenger hunt to find a copy on DVD. Found one at a not-so-local Best Buy. It was worth the trip though- I was able to pick off a copy of Spirited Away too. Both are such great movies. The storyline is not the typical goofy kids cartoon. It's more in depth and I am actually glad they took a liking to it.

Aw! I am hoping to show it to my younger cousins when I see them again. Of course first I have track down myself a copy. I already looked at Wal-Mart, but no such luck. I was wanting to go to FYE at the mall today, but sadly it was closed because of Easter. *sigh* This is frustrating me not being able to find it on DVD.

Well, I ordered the book last week, and it arrived on Wednesday, I just got it today though because I was on vacation for Spring Break. ^^
It's pretty good so far, it's is very different from the movie though. I noticed that as soon as I started reading it. Makes alot more since though! lol.

I am almost done with the book now, my brother had some friends over last night, and they were being loud so I couldn't sleep, and I was up untill about 2 a.m reading it.
It really is very different, I mean the movie changed SO many things, and left alot of stuff out!
Just some random things that are different: - In the movie after Howl freaks out about his hair, it turns black, in the book it turns a pink/ginger color, and Howl turns it black later when he is in "mourning" for someone. In the movie it stays black, in the book he changes it back to blonde, later. - In the movie Sophie's mother is her real mother. In the book she is actually her step-mother. - In the movie Sophie only has one sister, Lettie, in the book she has two, Lettie & Martha. - In the movie Howl's apprentice, Michael, is younger, in the book he is 15. - In the movie Sophie makes friends with the scarecrow "Turnip Head", but in the book she is scared of it.

^ Everything you said about the novel just makes me want to read it. I loved the movie so I think I should give the novel a read if I can get my hands on it.

You really should, if you liked the movie I guarantee you'll like the book too. For me the book explained the situation better, and alot of the stuff that happened made more sense.

Mononoke 2. Nausica of the Valley of the wind 3. HMC 4. Spirited Away 5. Kiki's Delivery Service 6. Porco Rosso 7. My Neighbor Totoro 8. The Castle of Cagliostro
