I had a feeling that the end of the episode would confuse people. But I must shut up now or I may spoil some. @chevalier- I agree about Lelouch's voice. Too much like Ichigo's.

As I watched this episode, I started thinking the... exact style of... confusingness... kind of put me in mind of... how I used to feel about anime in the earliest days of my fandom. I'm probably not expressing that very well... but I just think it has a very old school feel to it... which is cool...

it only gets better I sure hope it does. I only saw the first episode, so I shouldn't jump to conclusions, but it was very underwhelming.

Underwhelming? How can people not love it when he just makes a bunch of people shoot themselves? I'm confused. The beginning wasn't very confusing to me when I first watched it, but I'll admit, I watched the first one and then immediately watched everything else, as I had them subbed. If you're still wondering about a lot of things, most of it ends up answered. The only things still lingering on into season 2 are C.C.'s origins and the very question that drives Lelouch. But having seen the first 5 episodes of season 2 earlier today, if you guys get caught up in it, it's gonna keep going strong, from the looks of things. ;D

What cracked me up about episode 3 was when Kallen was taken a shower and Lelouch said "I can see" (meaning her naked), the screen covered her with some steam while in the subbed version you can pretty much see it all. It's just funny that the people who edited the dub think that makes a huge difference. The show is on adultswim and there is a warning so why do people have to edit the original like that when it does not make a huge difference anyways. LOL, that was just something I noticed.
@kaneda
Episode 2 is much better in my opinion so keep watching.

Just a reminder for people have seen the sub, keep spoilers to a low in this thread for the new watchers Yeah, they had to do some editing on the eps to make it fit for broadcast here in the States even if it's on cable. Just keep in mind that all the "school" age characters are considered underage in the US.

Still waiting for them to explain Lelouch's power. And give it a name. I mean, it's geas, right, but they haven't said that yet. Meanwhile, finally got around to starting my gallery for the show... I was rather surprised how much they showed of Kallen in the shower...

Episode 6 was pretty funny and I am really starting to like the idea of seeing Suzaku and Lelouch at the same school because of their connection as friends. Anyways, it was interesting to see Lelouch and Suzaku's angered reactions when Lelouch's father, Emperor Charles Di Britannia was speaking at the funeral for Prince Clovis.
I happened to do some research on the anime and I was surprised to find out that the anime is actually based a lot on actual world history with different events that changed the course of action. For instance, the Empire of Britannia (British) won the American Revolution (aka Washington's Rebellion in Code Geass). The main difference is that the Empire of Britannia is primarily in North America and not in Europe which is occupied by the Euro Universe (E.U.) which also controls Russia and Africa. In addition, historical figures such as Julius Caesar, Benjamin Franklin, George Washington and Napoleon who played prominent roles in the history of the Code Geass world. What is also quite surprising is that some of the other countries are based on their present-day counterparts.
Note: Most of this background are not really spoilers because they are not explictly mentioned in the anime. A few references are made though.
Another Note: The "Kallen" shower scene was just a bit of how mature this anime really is. I found out more about what happens later and Code Geass has even more mature scenes later on.
;D:I'm not kidding...

^Seriously? I gotta watch more!
@techno- I thought they did say what his power is. It's the Geass. My guess is it re-works the other persons mind to do what Lelouch wants them to do, whether it's to forget something (episode 6) or to kill themselves (episode 1). I like how he does experiments on how the Geass can really work in his favor. Maybe the show will explain more (or maybe not ^_^).

now you guys are starting to get into the real meat of the series . As far a how the world is the same and different than our, I'll say that season 1 is mostly focused on Japan and season 2 has a semi-wider focus.

I think the last episode with the chase after the cat for Lelouch's helmet was just funny. *laughs* I liked it that they kind of took a breather from the intensity the show has been giving off (which is what has been getting everyone addicted in my opinion. *chuckles*) and made a funny episode. Even though there were subtleties of "Oh my gosh what will happen if he dosen't catch the cat?! Will he be exposed?!" the audience wasn't really focused on that as much as they were, "Who's going to catch the cat and get the kiss?" *chuckles again*
Seeing that panicked side of Lelouch was just worth it too. *squee*

For those who watch(ed) the subbed version, does it bother you that CC is called C2, even though in the credits, it's CC? Why do they do that?
