My mom is okay with it; I'm trying to get her to start watching stuff with me. My dad...lawlz...he called anime a show for kids and it was a waste of time, so I made him watch an episode off Bleach and he doesn't say that anymore. But he still doesn't want me watching it.

My parents don't have a problem with anime. My mom used to sit with me and watch InuYasha, Naruto and Bleach. There was this one time we were watching BLEACH on Adult Swim and my mom made a comment about Rukia and Ichigo but I forgot what it was xD She watches Avatar with me too, and I think she's fond of Appa.
My dad doesn't watch that much anime with me, but he does ask me (when I get the chance to see him) if there are any new shows of "those cartoons that I watch" that's my new obsession, lol.

My parents arent quite the Miyazaki fans i am. But they did insist on seeing Spirited Away and Howls Moving Castle on opening night.

My mom hates it. "Why do you waste all that money on manga?" "You haven't read a real book in months!" (after which I proceed to read twenty books in two weeks). She thinks its just a waste of time and money.
My dad is actually somewhat interested in it. He wanted to start reading FMA with us, but didn't when we (my brother and I -- we split the cost of every volume that both of us read) told him that he would have to help pay for them.

My parents ask me why I spend $10 every manga book. They always say, "You read it in 30 minutes then you never read it again." (which is not true!!) They want me to read real books just because they take longer to read. At one point, they wanted to ban anime because they thought it was distracting me from school.

yeah, my mom thinks that collecting Manga is a waste. She's like "Are you going to read them years later?" (or something like that). Of course I will!! I PLAN to! Also, when I buy anime DVD"S (with show episodes on it), she thinks it's a movie. XD

My mom thinks the anime I get is a movie too!!! She can't remember that they're episodes!!
And as for manga, there are times when I get a strong urge to just read a series over again. Plus, manga is a great reference for drawing.

I do not read magna but my parents say think anime is pointless and I could be focusing on things much more important. I really do not even watch it that often either.

But Bleach is for kids... I thought it was for laundry. Mum and Dad don't really care either way about anime and me watching it, which is fine, because I don't watch anime for the most part.
