Let's not forget Master Roshi from DBZ who spent his entire life mastering the Kamamaha and it took Goku and everyone else like 2 seconds to master. XD Well duh! They're Saiayns!! @chibi from the post on the first page: Naruto didn't exactly master the technique in a week. You also have to remember that Jiraya had been training him in the Rasengan for a good while before Tsunade gave him that last week. Also it should be noted that Naruto didn't have to create the technique as the Fourth did. It can also be stated that he didn't actually 'master' the Rasengan as he can't do it without the help of his clones o.O I completely agree with the cliches, but I couldn't pass that up xD

^ To add to that list is the bankai technique in Bleach. Ichigo masters it in a matter of days while it is suppose to take thosands of years for even the greatest Shinigami to do it. Of course, he did use a 3-day technique that a previous captain happened to create. The guy he angers the most for doing it is Byakuya who claims that Ichigo is mocking the Shinigami in Soul Society.

Never trust the silent street urchin cliche
For both good or bad guy never trust the random silent street urchin cause they a threat to your quest. If your a good guy the street urchin is usually an assassin or scam artist there to hinder your quest. If your a bad guy the street urchin will never leave you alone and annoyingly say your name and constantly follow you around despite who you are.

There's Always Someone (Often The Hero) That Masters Some Uber-PWNAGE Technique Or Attack Move Thing In No Time At All, Even Though It Supposedly Takes Years To Master Said Attack Move Thing/Uber-PWNAGE TechniqueYeah, the great fighters that came before couldn't do it but then some teenage character (or otherwise young) comes in and masters the move WAAAAAY ahead of time. Sometimes, they master a move that wasn't able to be mastered by others!!! Example: Naruto and the Rasengan. It took Minato 3-4 years to master it and Naruto does it in a week!! Let's not forget Master Roshi from DBZ who spent his entire life mastering the Kamamaha and it took Goku and everyone else like 2 seconds to master. XD Or going Super Saiyan in general. It took Goku and Vegeta into their Mid-thirties to reach SSJ1...and then Trunks, Gohan, Goten etc all go SSJ at the age of 10. One Piece, Sanji's eye is always covered...but only because Oda is too lazy to draw the other one. Seriously. That's the reason. He said so himself. The Zero Hour Ultimate Pull-Through at the thought of friendship/dreams/etc--You know. When the main character is at death's door and then, when they think about their friends or their life's ambition, they suddenly find the strength to open the ultimate can of whoop-arse all over the bad guy and make him look like a level 2 Druid. Dude looks like a Lady--The long haired bishounen girls go gaga over even though he looks like a girl himself. Bleeding from the mouth--(Someone mentioned this in a similar thread) Whenever anime characters get stabbed, shot, poked, papercut, you name it, they always end up somehow bleeding from the mouth. Strange. Tournament-based animes--Like ones that portray the world revolving around elementary school children's games. Trading card game/doll and animal fighting/tops tournaments that are held in mega domes and every single person plays the game or is some how affiliated with it. (my ultimate pet peeve) Assuming the bad guy's dead just because there's a bunch of dust and smoke around the fight area-- Some character will give it their all and when the bad guy is obscured by debris and dust they'll bask in wondrous glory only to have their false sense of hope dashed to pieces when the villain returns a counter twice as awesome.

Dude looks like a Lady--The long haired bishounen girls go gaga over even though he looks like a girl himself. We can extend this to gaming as well, I think. Somebody watches Yugioh Abridged, eh? Air Gear is also muchos guilty of this. To add... Everything revolves around Japan.Souls go to live in an ancient Japanese town-esque 'Heaven,' every major battle happens in Japan, etc. Very few animes bother to leave the scope of Japan, or have a good excuse for not doing so (Code Geass, you did save yourself from that) [/quote]

All the males fall for the main female or all the females fall for the main male cliche
Prevalent in lots of Harem Anime.
A cup/glass of some sort of beverage but is usually tea cracking for no reason is a sign that something horrible will or is happening to the protaganist(s) cliche
The one I remember off the top of my head is Temari from Naruto stopping by for tea after leaving Konoha.

The main character, or one of their friends, get visited/dream-invaded by someone from the future.

Beaten to a point that would kill a normal human, but somehow the character is able to survive- and fight some more.
Just about every series has this issue... and it drives me mad in some.
If a person was to be thrown through a wall or walls- they would likely not survive.
If a person was to be in the middle of a huge explosion- they would come out with at least some injuries. Not a few scuffs on their face and they're ready to fight.
If an enemy was to ever shove anything through you- a fist, a sword, a blunt object- IT HURTS! Yet just about every anime character is able to fight after such an injury has been dealt.
