I know what it is. Would it be considered a spoiler? How do you make the black spoiler-things, anyway?

^Me, too! I just finished the last volume of the manga the other day, and I've been all depressed at the prospect of not ever having any more new Death Note, ever. So about L's name. They never actually revealed it in the manga. Did they in the anime? I'm only up to episode 25, so I'm not sure. I know they did in the 2nd movie--but I deliberately didn't look because I wasn't through with the series and didn't want to know it yet, and the movie was totally different anyways. I heard somewhere that L's real name was only mentioned in a supplemental fanbook or something like that. Is that where it comes from?

I just finished watching episode 33 and I've been wondering something. The question contains major spoilers. Can I post the question with spoiler tags or would someone please allow me to PM them for the question?
I really, really, really don't want to spoil anyone. Thanks!

I just got the first volume! It took me a while but I finally got myself to get it. My only complaint is that how the art in the anime seemed a little better than the manga. Death note is not over fully, we still have another live action movie and the rest of the English dubs to come.

^ The art of the manga is still very detailed for a shounen, though.
Hey, remember how Ryuk wrote the instructions for the Death Note in Engliash because it was "the most popular language in our world?" While it is the language for most all global affairs, wouldn't it have made more sense to write them in the most widely spoken language a.k.a. Chinese?

I liked the manga art better than the anime, I'm not sure why...maybe it's just because I like the still pictures. They don't make my eyes hurt as much.
Chinese is most widely spoken in a certain area, it's only the most used language because there are so many people in China. Plus there are several dialects of Chinese that are written a bit differently, and English is mainly used in business and other social dealings. So Ryuk was right.

But Chinese is still spoken widely throughout the world, much more so than English. Chinese speakers are just not confined to China. Plus, Mandarin Chinese, even being just one dialect, is still spoken more than English.

True, I'm just saying what my AP World history book tells me. I think it's more the fact that Englih is used in business dealings.

But Ryuk didn't know who would pick up the Death Note. There are more average people than business people in the world.

So? He likes business people? Anyway, they could go get it translated. XD
Hmm, I'm going to record the next dub episode on Adult Swim...I haven't seen any dub yet, is it any good?

Well, I think putting it in english makes more sense since chinese is hard to read and really not alot of people know it. Also, there's different kinds of Chinese, its not written just one way like english. One person could be able to speak chinese, but not read it, and the chinese alphabet is harder. Anyways, so English would be more common.... in my opinion ._.

^ You only think that way because you speak English. Chinese people put great emphasis on getting an education so more than likely, the common Chinese person will know how to read calligraphy. Since they grow up learning their language, it's just natural to them, like English is to us. English is actually one of the hardest languages to learn, since it has origins from every other language in the world. Words are not as they appear to be in English.
