Right now, I'm watching the Star Wars marathon on Spike TV. The Phantom Menace would have been good minus Jar Jar and that really long pod race.

I beg to differ on the grounds that, without Jar Jar, Palpatine wouldn't have been given emergency powers in AotC and thus wouldn't have declared himself Emperor.
And call me crazy, I don't think that the podrace wasn't that long. I thought that it was paced right and lasted long enough. *shrug* Agree to disagree then.

Has anyone been watching the marathon on Spike Tv?
They are playing all the movies of the Saga. This gives me an excuse to watch them all now. =]

I've been watching them. I must admit, right now, that Star Wars doesn't do much for me.
The Phantom Menace: Good, a bit long and strung-out. Podracing = awesome. I saw this one in the theatre.
Attack of the Clones: I saw the beginning... and the end... and lost a bit in the middle... and I was insanely impressed with the CG. But the romantic scenes killed it.
Return of the Jedi: At the end, I was like, "What? He turned into Darth Vader? But dude. That scene where he finds out whoever the Princess' name was was so played-down that I actually had to THINK!"
Yeah. I'm not much of a Star Wars fan.

Well, if you saw ROTJ and not Revenge of the Sith, you skipped 3 whole movies. That's a lot of information left out.

Attack of the Clones in going to be on Spike today. I'm excited, because that's the only Star Wars movie I haven't seen.

Now I realize others may not really care, but I am wondering. Just what the hell happened to Jar Jar Binks? He never died, does anyone think he may have continued to serve as Naboo Senator in the Imperial Senate before it was disbanded? It was rumored that he was last seen at the ending for Episode VI along with two other Gungans going, "Wesa Free!"
Does anyone think he may have helped the Rebel Alliance in other places across the galaxy? I mean he was around during the clone wars and was the one responsible for giving Palpatine the emergency powers. Does he have any regrets about that? Perhaps he may have even became a Jedi Knight during the New Jedi Order.

Speaking of Jar-Jar, why does practically everyone who watches Star Wars hate him? One time, my whole class was talking about Star Wars, and nobody liked Jar-Jar except one of my friends.

One reason is the way he talks, something racist. Not necessary sure what part is racist, I might look it up. I think it has something to do with slavery and how slaves talked.
But what happened to Jar Jar Binks? I really want to know what everyone thinks. Remember he never officially died. I was thinking perhaps he became a Jedi in the New Jedi Order. He was still alive then. Based upon the Gungan at the end of Episode VI going, "Wesa Free!" sound somewhat like Jar Jar. On Lego Star Wars the Complete Saga, I made a new Jar Jar character seeing how he sucks on the game because all he can do is jump.
I've made him a rebel/pliot, smuggler in an orange tunic, and a jedi in the New Order.

Nobody likes Jar Jar for the reason that George Lucas was trying too hard to make a likable character. The alleged racism of the prequels comes from the manner of speech of certain characters and races:
Neimoidians = Asians (Asian film dub manner of speech) Gungans = Caribbean (Th rendered as T and broken English.) Watto (Toydarian) = Italian (gravely voice, squat, unkempt appearance)
Really, it's just a victim of over-hype (since it's hard to top the originals) and unfortunate circumstance with casting.

People need to lighten up a little. It is only racist if people make it that way. I am sure it wasn't like this in the 80s. If only it was the 80s today.

Well, considering that a TV series is coming out, and its grand premiere is in cinemas now, I think it's time that we bump this thread to begin discussion on: So, then, is the Force strong with this one?

I saw the movie the other day, and I liked it well enough, so I'm looking forward to the new series. It's worth noting that the director, Dave Filoni, was also a director on Avatar...

I'm still debating on whether I want to go see Clone Wars in theaters. =/
I love Star Wars, but this just wouldn't feel like a Star Wars movie to me. I may just wait for it to come out on video.

Isn't The Clone Wars supposed to take place in between Episodes II and III? And isn't it in animation (of course, I'm probably talking about something else...)? Yeah, I'm not sure if I want to see it either.
