Lucas said after the war, everyone's all poor so the equipments were crappier and rundown.

even the empire? the one that started the problems in the first place? they could easily just commandeer any part they wanted.

Would you like to Tell us? Well I don't completely hate the prequels. I like parts of them. But there is one thing I cannot stand at all in the prequels... JAR JAR BINKS! Agreed on Jar Jar he was cool for like 2 seconds

Revenge of the Sith was the only good one out of the entire newer trilogy. Wow, how long as it been since The Phantom Menace came out, 1999, 2002, 2004. The new trilogy is really old now. But not nearly as old as the original trilogy.
Now I do not see why people say Star Wars will kick Star Trek's Equus asinus. The technology in Star Trek will dominate Star Wars easily, now a real fight will be between Battlestar Galactica and Star Wars. But Star Wars would come out on top of that one because they use lasers.

I think one of the main problems with Star Wars is that the dialogue is remarkably crappy.

Most of the time, sci fi movies aren't about good dialog but inventive effects. Personally, I only like certain star trek movies (first contact) as really good movies over all. Every other sci fi movie has been about gimmicks.

Good Sci-Fi movies are movies with awesome special effects! I disagree. A good movie of any genre needs some kind of plot, and preferably a good plot. Ultraviolet had some great SFX, but not much in the way of plot. Great to watch for braindead Oohs and Aahs, and I used to own a copy of it, even though lots of people discredited it, but I never watched it when I wanted a movie that would make me think at least a little. It's one of the reasons I hate the 'new' trilogy - it's a mindless SFX spectacular. It's like watching Titanic. You know the boat's gonna crash and sink - you know the cute kid with power is gonna become Vader. It's completely mindless to me.

If a movie was all about good special effects, then it would turn into a movie like Transformers. That movie sucked, sorry, that is a movie for CGI and SFX "graphic whores" who do not even follow what is going on.
I was lost in the plot of the movie and the background music seemed as if it never changes. The newer trilogy is better then another Michael Bay's Sucker Money Makers.

Now I have a question, differently some food for thought. In A New Hope, when the Rebellion destroyed the Death Star. Put yourself inside the Empire as a citizen, a loyal citizen that could have been brainwashed to believe the Empire was a utopia. Will the attack on the Death Star be considered the Empire's 9/11? The Rebellion killed hundreds if not more (not counting clones) on that day. Imagine yourself waiting for your loved one to return and he/she never does. Does this officially make the Battle of Yavin the Empire's 9/11?

I doubt it. The Death Star would have been kept pretty hush-hush because of the sheer destructive power. It was developed in the center of a cluster of black holes and constructed by prisoners. Only the Admirals, the Grand Moffs (regional governors), Vader, and Palpatine probably had ready access to its existence, apart from the crew stationed there. The only "civilized" planet that knew about the Death Star was Alderaan and look what happened to them. If, for some reason, the Death Star was common knowledge around the Empire, it would have been titled differently (I recall hearing mention of a "Life Star" in one of the novels) and spun in a different matter. If anything, the destruction of Alderaan would have been the Empire's 9/11 (despite the fact that they were aligned with the Rebels the entire time)
