Why does everyone think Zutara was so badly wounded?
People seem to forget how little Zutara actually occured on screen in the series up untill CoD. The very presence of it (even if Zuko betrays them later) shows that we havent been rooting for something completely nonexistent.
Azula always lies, Zuko's not gonna side with her forever.
Kataang was the most damaged. Aang let go of her to enter the avatar state. I personally think Kataang is dead.
If you think of it from an artistic angle, it was getting old. I dont think I would be able to put up with another season of Aang looking at Katara and blushing.

It should be bigger than Kataang then at this point I find it ironic that you shoveled dirt and set up a grave stone on the ship that has always hung on, and that we dont even have the concrete truth of what letting go actually meant. Kataang is dead? Sure it is. Yeah you can be able to put up with another season, just watch the other aspects of the show, there are plenty more. Avatar isnt just solely focused on relationships.

Why does everyone think Zutara was so badly wounded? I would like to see a Zuko/Katara friendship, but in order for a believable romance to occur, Katara is going to have to put aside the image of Zuko indirectly nearly killing not only the person who is her hope for the world's salvation, but who is arguably her best friend and someone she shares a very strong bond with. The relationship between Katara and Aang is one of the most important in the show and their bond has been stressed many times. Nearly losing Aang is going to weigh heavily on Katara and her emotions and her future possible interactions with Zuko. Their scene set the stage for the scenes later on. Katara finally had a chance to confront the person that to her represented the evil in her world. And later, it was shoved right back in her face with dire consequences to someone she cares about. We don't know what's in store for the Fire siblings. Kataang is hardly dead. We don't know what "letting go" means. I think it is too premature to say that Kataang is dead. Aang's behavior was cute and he's sweet. And artistically as you put it, it was wonderful to see his feelings develop. A rush-job on his feelings and their relationship would have been poorly done and unrealistic. So no, from a believable angle and from an artistic angle, Aang's behavior was right on target.

Why does everyone think Zutara was so badly wounded? ...because it was. Zuko had a chance to at least form a friendship with Katara, but he sided with Azula. Whatever bond they were about to form, was destroyed after that point. Also with him now on the same team as Mai, Maiko has a huge chance of happening now, which means a less chance for Zutara to happen. yeah, 5 minutes of Katara showing sympathy to Zuko. If that counts as a hint , there's no doubt that Kataang's going to happen since Katara's shown plenty of sympathy for Aang(but i forgot, it's only "motherly love", unless his name is Zuko ) I don't understand what makes Zuko and Katara's 5-10 minutes of bonding time so much more significant than Aang and Katara's 2 seasons of bonding time 0_o The only way Kataang's going to die is if Aang dies, Katara dies, or the show ends(but it's still going to be alive) Seriously, Kataang is THE main romance on the show, it's never going to die Of course, now he's going to look at her and kiss her or vice versa j/k...well not really ;D

Zutara. Katara was just beginning to trust Zuko then he blew it. yeah. *sarcatically* Way to go Zuko But personally, I blame Aang,if Katara had healed his scar, mabey he would not have turned evil anf Aang would have never been shot. mindbender-That is why I don't ship it any more. It was cute at first but now it's like the sugary fluffy epic love between a 14 year old girl and a 12 year boy to pwn them all.

Blaming Aang for Katara not healing Zuko and therefore causing his own near death? What the...? Okay, Aang's done some stupid things, but don't blame him for something ridiculous like that. Scar or no scar, Zuko made his choice.
No, the real tragedy would have been Katara wasting the water so Zuko could have some magical plastic surgery. Healing Zuko's exterior scar doesn't heal the mental scars. Do you seriously think that Katara would have healed his scar and then all of Zuko's problems would have been cured? That's ridiculous.
I'm glad she didn't. Aang survived. And now Zuko can fix his own problems and not rely on the easy way out of them. Having Katara healing his scar would have been an easy fix and would have been boring!

Also with him now on the same team as Mai, Maiko has a huge chance of happening now, which means a less chance for Zutara to happen. Maiko has more of a chance now because of obvious circumstances (being on the same team), but these circumstances can prove to be false (Zuko's still a fugitive, no matter what), and then there's the fact that Mai has a crush on Zuko, but how does Zuko feel about Mai?

Well Kaneda, I mean you can call it a given that Zuko is eventually going to breakl away from Azula some point in the coming season I dont know which point.

Zutara definitely. Katara may be compassionate, but she's not an easy forgiver, as seen by her interaction with Jet

i think kataang wuz hurt the most. the whole "letting go" thing. to me it kinda seems like aang cant rele be with any1 if he cant have any worldly attatchments. i think katara will eventually 4give zuko. mayb he will do something so awesome-ly kind that will make katara like him again. i heard he might save toph or something.

About Kataang, the creators aren't going to have Aang just let go of Katara and call it a day. Like someone already said, Kataang's the main romance of the show, it's not going anywhere. This is only going to make it grow stronger.

The season finale's bad part was that Niether Zutara or Kataang has happend. It hurt them by DESTINY.Man Destiny always ruined everything. They both make the wrong choices.

Which ship was most damaged by the season 2 finale? Well, let us conduct an experiment. These two eggs are Kataang and Zutara. Now I'll lift them in the air to represent how both seemed likely, what with Aang turning his back on great power, favouring his love for Katara, and Zuko and Katara spending a bunch of alone time getting to know each other.
Aww, look how these eggs glint in the sunlight.
Now, let us consider the sidewalk as the last ten minutes of CoD. Now I am going to drop them to represent Aang and Zuko's critical decision. That is, Aang having to abandon his feelings for Katara to fulfill is duties, and Zuko abandoning his whatever for whatever( if he rejoined the FN for the reason I think he did, it makes sense. Otherwise, WTH!!)
*anger overcomes the scientist, who throws the eggs hard against the cement* Well, as you can see the Zutara egg has shattered beyond repair and the Kataang egg, uh, hasn't fared much better. Hmmmm, I think I am going to need more eggs...

...and that, children, was how the Great Egg Genocide of 2007 began.

Because we all know Zuko and Azula are going to stay on the same side 4 evah. You don't give Zuko enough credit. The boy is stubborn. He's going to stay with Azula as long as he finds (or simply believes) that it benefits (or will benefit) him. Furthermore, he's not going to let go of an opportunity (no maatter how stupid) to go home. But what does staying on the same side have to do with Zutara? I dunno, but I get this really intense feeling that it'd take a lot more to even get her to look at him again nicely. But, that's just a feeling right? Riiiiight....
