*raises hand* Got me there. Someone said in this thread that a lot of the boys identify with Aang and I'll second that notion. I'm a huge Kataang fan - of course, being bi, I also like Zukaang, but that's another matter entirely. *Grin*

Somehow the trend I'm noticing here is not surprising at all... I'm shocked by the outcome personally. Anyway, most Zutarains are girls because, as someone on this thread said, they seem (emphasis on seem) to like or want a bad boy. I guess it makes sense I ship Kataang because I find bad boys incredibly, well, bad. I've seen too many women ruin themselves to "save" said bad boy.

It seems to me from personal experience that the type of guys who would watch/ship for Avatar are likely to not be the "bad boy" types. And what nice guy wants to see a bad boy get the girl yet again? It already happens so often both in fiction and in real life that it's beyond being a cliche.

I'm shocked by the outcome personally. Anyway, most Zutarains are girls because, as someone on this thread said, they seem (emphasis on seem since I know quite a few female Zutarains are not that way) to like or want a bad boy. I guess it makes sense I ship Kataang because I find bad boys incredibly dull. Well, I'm surprised that they got as many as four male Zutarians on this poll actually... It seems to me from personal experience that the type of guys who would watch/ship for Avatar are likely to not be the "bad boy" types. And what nice guy wants to see a bad boy get the girl yet again? It already happens so often both in fiction and in real life that it's beyond being a cliche. That's usually because the bad boy is the only one who challenges her; actually makes her fight for what she believes in. Because in my life; all the nice/good boys as you would put it; are intimidated by me and don't say much to me at all, and they usually don't say anything to me at all. It's the class clowns and the loud guys that actually talk to me, they're the ones who actually get noticed, because they speak up, even if it is something in the teasing set of mind. I'm not saying that I may not eventually have/end up with a good guy, but right now, it's not looking that way, and that's why I support Zutara. Because the way I see it (And I'm not bashing; just stating my opinion) a relationship with a girl that speaks her mind and a shy boy usually ends because the girl is bored and frustrated that the boy won't speak up, and the boy is intimidated by the girl['s boldness]. Oh and I'm a girl Zutarian, if you couldn't tell.

I'm a lovely female Zutarian, and dang proud of it! And I'm not just a Zutarian because I like bad boys, oh no, I actually get creeped out by them. I'm drawn to Zutara because of the connection, the foreshadowing, and the speculating. Zutara is a beautiful relationship, that keeps you on the edge of your seat. I love always trying to guess and figure out what's going to happen. But I guess that's just me.

That's usually because the bad boy is the only one who challenges her; actually makes her fight for what she believes in. From personal experience, the bad boy is also the one who hurts her AND her family and children and makes life a living h*** when she can't "change" him. The bad boy is the abuser, the rapist, the one who uses a woman and throws her away when she ceases to interest him. Since when is the class clown or the goofy guy a "bad boy"? I'm always cracking jokes, but I'm pretty far from that classification. Again, since when does the nice boy also have to be the "shy" boy? And speaking from someone who is in that position anyway - aggressiveness in a female can be appreciated as long as it can supportive as well. The point of beginning with a friendship is that you can find the ways that you function well with the boy or girl of your choice - that you support each other instead of tearing each other down. I've seen a great many friends hurt because they decided they wanted the "bad" boy/girl - thinking that their influence could make a difference to that person. But it is rarely the actual case.
