I probably would have converted more had my fellow classmates not had such animosity to a show "they don't know about" I'm sure they're are tons of closet Avatards at my school, too embarassed to say anything but still willing to flash an Inuyasha t-shirt despite the fact that that show is dying rapidly.I have two main Zutarian friends, one of which who also supports Zuko/Azula if they weren't siblings. Then I have a neutral friend who does nothing to balance us out So while she watches on, amused, we Zutarians gush about how awesome Zutara is xD I don't really go into other shipping communities aside from DH. Nearly everywhere else there is an inbalance of rabid Kataangers and rabid Zutarians or one totally rabid side (most of the time, Zutarians unfortunately) that has to pick fights with the other side without them doing anything xD People here are friendlier.

Okay, one more thing about this debate issue and then this admin is going to study:
One thing you all can do is not engage people in debates. Just calmly tell them you don't want to discuss it or just change the conversation. If you need to address the person's comment, do so in PM's. That is something on your level that you all can do. If you guys actively encourage, respond, and participate in the discussions that you are finding bothersome, then it makes it that much harder for us to see who is doing what.

@amira- All right. WhiteFire- I'm sure people at my school like Avatar, everyone is jsut too afraid to admit it. In my little "group" about 4 people (including myself) have admitted to watching Avatar willingly (some people just watch it because of their little brothers/sisters. One of my freinds watches it because her parents are Avatards. I was like, "Yeah! Way to go!"). One of them has no idea what shipping is, one is a Kataanger, and the other is my fellow Zutarian. And then me.

I liked Zutara since the first episode, I know... Zuko and Katara didn't interacted there. But just with to see how were the personages... I said..In a very disinterested way... "he is going to get her pregnant" XD------- Sorry, but it just a part of a movie of here and It was like to say...."Come on!!! They are going to be something!!!" ^That just made me LOL. It was the Waterbending Scroll that started it for me. But now when I look back now at the series from the beginning, I wonder - why did it take me until the WBS to like this pairing? There's so much potential there and a great story to them. Oh well, I'm hooked now

Excellent advice. I am guilty of participating in these detours from Zutarian conversations and I finally realized what was happening and that's why I got so annoyed. Back on topic: It's funny how the moment you recognize Zutara for the first time, all the reruns of the shows you've seen before are suddenly infused with Zutara. It's like seeing them for the first time. I've watched the show since the first episode. I thought it was going to be terrible, but my five-year-old cousin was obsessed after the commercials so we watched it together (in case there was anything I was going to have to explain/censor). I was hooked, she was hooked and now we're both avatards. It's hard to bring up avatar to my classmates though. I'm not in high school anymore and people are too "cool" (or so they think). That's why I come here!

I don't carry my fan art around with me... unless I'm doing it on, like, the corner of my maths homework or something. *is not in college* It's not really "cool" at my school to like Avatar, either, but I don't really care. Their loss, not mine. I've met some Avatards, not rabid like me though. I expect to meet more when I go to Anime club on Thursday. Anime club? Sounds fun.

@ana, Para, & Amira: Will do Only one of my friends watches ATLA, & she's not really that devoted to the show. Other than that, I don't know any Avatards in real life. EDIT: Ooh, I wish we'd had an Anime Club. We tried to start one up once, but no teacher would sponser us >_<

Well, I'm in middle school and people are still obsessed with "fitting in" and being in the popular crowd that they don't want to admit they're into Avatar, girls especially because they believe it's a "boy's show" n-n
Little do they know that much of the fanbase is female xD
Most of the Avatards I know all think Zuko is hot and that Toph is the coolest and blah, blah, blah... just basic fangirls. They like pairings because they're cute and whatnot (which is why I only have one Maiko friend, a person that doesn't mind describing and debating on pairings without getting into a fist fight.) I like shippers who don't just put people together because they're adorable, but for actual reasons.
Most of my peers think I'm weird because 99.9% of my sketchbook is Avatar, 98% of it Zutara xD I just don't have any inspiration otherwise ^^;
I carry my sketchbook around with me and whip it out at lunch (I eat fast) and in the mornings during the time I wait in my waiting area. Some people think I'm showing off but not really, just passing time and working on stuff because my teacher's all believe reading trumps art >.> Except my art teacher, of course.

No on at my school likes or knows about Avatar, though I made I friend of mine watch it and she kinda like it. And my best friend knows the show and thinks is really good, she's just no crazy about it. A bummer.
That's why I love the DH forums so much, because they give me a chance to talk with fellow avatards about the show we like so much.

I know two guys who watch Avatar, both are my friends' little brothers. >.<
I don't really know, but I think my peers think I'm weird because I keep a countdown until season three in my locker and stuff like that. But hey, being and Avatard is more fun.
My friends that like Avatar aren't nearly as much of a fanatic as I am, so I come to DH a bunch. And it helps me procrastinate, because I don't like doing homework. >.<

Bah, I wish I had an Anime Club >.< I feel so alone. My Avatard friends don't even have the same schedule as me, most of them.
I have an Avatar timer that I carry around in my pocket xD Just bought it. Red and blue x3
I'm off. Bed. School.

At first I thought nobody I knew watched Avatar, until I became more open about it. Then slowly, bure surely, a good portion of my friends started to admit that they watched it too. xD None of them are as obsessed as I am, but hey. It's a start. My best friend thinks I'm crazy and has only seen it because her little brother watches the show. There's an anime club at my high school, but most of the kids in there are slightly... Well, for lack of a better word, strange. Some of them are nice and all, but they'll walk around school with those little silver headband things on going, "ZOMG NARUTO!" (Can you tell I don't watch the show?) And according to one of my friends, they only talk about Naruto and Inuyasha, both anime shows that I can't stand. xD It's a shame, because there is a lot of really good anime out there that a lot of people don't know about. D: Wow, this is getting off topic.
