LOL. So true. And then while he's bending trying to look "all cool", Katara comes and ruins his thunder with her bending. Hahahaa. <3
But, this isn't Kataang...so let's get a discussion going! Yiceman, since you're here and whatnot, what are your views on the future of the Aang/Katara relationship now that you've seen the trailer, read the Animation Insider article, and the spoilers?
I like how I'm posting and then you guys post ahead of me. I'm just not fast enough, laaame.

Me? It'll probably happen.
I was waiting to see how they'd handle it at the start of the third season. I figured that if Aang wakes up and is clingy to her, then I'll be all the more convinced he's supposed to give it up.
But since he's apparently shifted his priorities and Katara's showing more signs, it's looking more like a full on romance.
Before (because I personally didn't count Katara's blushes as undeniable proof of her attraction), it was looking more like a love that wasn't meant to be.
I still hold to my belief that they shouldn't poo all over the Avatar State and Guru Pathik, so I'm rooting for the loophole that let's Aang get both.

Awesome. Welcome to the club then. And I asked you specifically because of all the debates we used to have here in the Sky Castle. So, I wanted to know, after all the new info we've gotten and whatnot, if you'd change your mind, and since we needed a Kataang discussion. I wonder about the Avatar State though. I like the idea of it being used right at the last moment, during the Final Battle, to destroy the comet and whatnot but since the Escape from the Spirit World comics are canon, he can't use it anymore. Perhaps, he'll get some kind of connection or something that will enable him to use it. The creators said in the commentary for CoD that Aang wasn't able to master the Avatar State because he still hasn't really mastered what it was to be the Avatar, so once he does that, then he probably will be able to. Interestingly enough, he seems to be picking up on his priorities, so it falls in quite nicely, IMO. As for Guru Pathik (if you mean his philosophies) then I have no idea.

^Yangchen said it was "disrupted," not gone. Which specifically leads me to believe we'll see it again.
But, as I've said, not until the last minute.
As for Pathik, the guy just seemed way too wise and nice to wind up a total crackpot....
And thanks for the club invite. Nice to know you'd welcome a feller like me given my past history here ;p
AWS makes me debate too much...

Oh! You're right, she did, interesting but I agree with you. We'll see it again, we just don't know how, for now anyway. I also agree about Guru Pathik. I don't think he's a crackpot, I think they were just trying to give Aang two alternatives, two halves of the argument so to speak. There's enlightenment on one end, and love/attachment in the other, to balance the conflict.
You're very welcome! No matter, no matter. I'm the type of person who looks beyond that type of stuff.
AWS made me write too much for my own good...

It looked as though Roku fully mastered the Avatar State without actually losing his attachment to his friendship with Sozin, but he definitally seemed more than willing to set that aside if Sozin stepped out of line again.
That's a pretty big tell that Matery of the Avatar state is mastery of emotions, more or less like I've been figuring for a while.

^That's because it's not necessary for the Avatar to give up love or friendship to master the Avatar State.
They only have to learn not to let attachment rule them.
Roku, a citizen of the Fire Nation, did not let his attachment to his home OR his friendship with Sozin interfere with his duties as the Avatar.

Eh, the chibishorts are fanservice, and nothing more. I actually quite liked the 'Zutara' moment in it, I thought Zuko's reaction to it had a slightly more 'mature' meaning to it if anyone gets what I'm talking about...

I thought the "shippy moments" were just merely fun. A sort of way for them to poke a little good-humored fun at us fans and our admitted craziness...LOL

Oh yes, they were making fun of someone with the shippy moments inthe Chibi shorts. Everyone was so adorably OOC most of the time that taking it seriously is...no, do not take the chibi shorts seriously, they are strictly for the LULZ XD

Exactly, fanservice. They poked fun of alot of us in that chibi short. Especially Katara's comment about Zuko being so cute, which is what half the Zuko fangirls do all the time XD Besides in 'real' Avatar Katara isn't exactly going to hit Aang on the head...
