In my opinion, Aang is 12 but has more maturity than Zuko does at 16. So who cares about the age difference?

Any bashing of ships will result in a warning bar. I will not tolerate disrespect of other ships. Treat other ships the way you'd want yours to be treated and if your ship is being bashed, do not sink to that level. Get a mod or admin.
I've seen a lot of behavior lately that I am not very pleased with:

I want all of the regulars, all of the long-time members, all members period to set an example to the board.

In the interest of getting the Sky Castle flying right again, I offer a bit of character/plot examination.
It's not out of the question that Katara felt something with her initial encounter with Aang, a schoolgirl crush?(gee, wouldn't that be a ironic surprise...[/sarcasm]) He was very charming, funny, sweet, and pretty easy on a girl's eyes too. Given that the only other guy in her age range was the sexist, sarcastic brother Sokka, Aang had to have been a breath of fresh air, so to speak. Then, however, it's revealed that he's the Avatar, and she pushes those feelings back because well...he's the Avatar, this mythic figure that she had always seen in the abstract, she now sees as Aang.
Then comes the episode that many a Zutara shipper wished never happened, The Fortune Teller. Katara gets a prediction that she's in for a great romance and marrage to a powerful bender. An abstract, unknown figure. But then up comes the revelation that Aang is a powerful bender, her reaction is not surprising if in fact she pushed her feelings for Aang back, but this revelation made them flood forward once again.
This can't be easy. The Avatar was this mythic, legendary figure for her, something she'd only heard stories about. She always believed the Avatar would return to save the world because thats what he did. Now she believes that the Avatar will save the world because the Avatar is sweet, kind, brave Aang, the same Aang she has growing feelings for.
I know this explanation has a "what if", but all character and plot examinations do, really. However there are far less "what if"s in this examination of the character and plot that certain others, but I still admit I could be off.

You know, I wouldn't be at all surprised if that were true. Indeed. Aang is a nice enough guy and because he was an air bender and everything that made him special or unique. Katara did grow up in a small village, kinda like you said, so I’m not surprised she was impressed with Aang ("But he's special. I can tell. I sense he's filled with much wisdom."). But once Katara found Aang was the Avatar, the she's been hoping for, I can se her pushing her feelings back to not mess with his job. However, once Katara realizes Aang that is her "powerful bender" those feelings come up again (although I think Katara's revelation was a "zomg, Aang is a boy?!? kind of thing) and she sees that she's really falling for him. It's a nice "what-if" (and something to get the Sky Castle flying right again) but not too unbelievable. Thanks psylum.

Thank you for that burst of joy and choking sensation! That, psylum, however, is a very interesting theory, and as stated, might not be so far from the truth. And if it is true, it's interesting--both are trying to push themselves away from each other because there's more important things at hand then the two of them ... he has his job to do, and she hers ... and even though it's easy enough to say, why is it so complicated? *Is "Lyk, OMG SWOONED!!!!111one" by tragic love! SQUEE!*

That I say, Psylum, is a very interesting theory. Seems totally plausible, and does give an a nice explanation of why things weren't so 'engertic' between them after the first couple of episodes.
Also another thing that I noticed, and that other people have pointed out, is the fact that Katara was alot more 'touchy' in the Second season. There were double as many hugs, more hands on the shoulders, more one on one talks. Heh.

Well, as the show goes on, the better Aang and Katara get to know eachother, so more hugs and kisses lol. That means even more in season 3! Unless Aang decides to distance himself again. By the way, who's making the new sky castle?

By the way, who's making the new sky castle? I don't think Aang will distance himself for too long, maybe an episode or two, tops. Seriously, he's already been down that road once, and he realized closeness was important.

Aang ceased to be just "a sweet little guy" to Katara in the Fortuneteller. It went from one end (her thinking of Aang in a "sweet little guy" way) of the spectrum to the other (possible romantic interest) and I see it being a distinct indication that Kataang will happen.
Since that episode the romance or "definitely more than friends" vibes have been increasing.
