*is greatful for fanfiction* Well, since the heartbreaking truth is probably true, I am gonna start to pay more attention FFN then the actual show. I like their idea, but the way the story is going is slightly dissappointing. I'll be an avatard even after the last season ends ( hopefully other people will be too) and I'll start ATLA from the beggining with my own twists on FFN. I wonder if I might make a more interesting storyline.........now that's wishful thinking.

I will hopefully be an avatard after teh third season ends, though I heard from a maqgazine that there were going to be six seasons of Avatar.(yeah!)
Fanfiction is seriously helping my TWS/AWS for now, but I don't know howl long it will last, not through the entire sumer I know.

Yeesh.. It's been a while since I've had a chance to get on here and post. Sorry for the absence. I haven't been home much, and the computer in my office has been on the fritz. Sucks that I missed the end of the bash. Did you guys get through the rounds? I will hopefully be an avatard after teh third season ends, though I heard from a maqgazine that there were going to be six seasons of Avatar.(yeah!) Hhmmm... I while back that would have seemed like a good thing. But now that Kataang seems so set in stone, I kind of dread sitting through anymore than the next season. I'm sorry, but no matter how dramatic or meaningful the writers might try to make it, they are just so dang boring together. Even if they would make a "cute couple" ... that doesn't make it fun to watch. I may still enjoy the cool animation and stylishly choreographed fight scenes, but I can sate my lust for cartoon violence elsewhere. I'm not sure I could make myself sit through dull and obligatory kiddy romance, just for the sake of some bloodless battles.

Lunauc! *hugs* Nice new name, Bitter, I mean Mizz Chocolate muffin. NOOOOO!!!!!! Call me hypocrite but we do NOT need six seasons and I'm not saying that because of the canoness of Kataang. The show in general!!!! I'm so sorry, Lunauc, but no, we didn't.

NOOOOO!!!!!! Call me hypocrite but we do NOT need six seasons and I'm not saying that because of the canoness of Kataang. The show in general!!!! True, the show was only planned for three seasons. After they beat ozai and deal with Sozin's comet and Aang masters the Avatar State, etc. they will have effectively "jumped the shark". Everything beyong that point would just be going down hill. Of course they may surprise us with an extradorinary and meaningful new trilogy to follow the first. But more likely it would just be something they tacked on because the show got good enough ratings that the producers were willing to fund more. And that's just a pathetic shame. Aaaww.. that's okay, kiddo. As long as everyone had fun, that's all that matters.

If they do do that extra three seasons, yeah, hopefully they can surprise us and add some at least platonic Taang moment. That's what happens to a lot of shows. Shame it is. *karmas*
Thanks. I think everyone did have fun.

Well that's the thing. Most of the excitement around kataang seems to be that "will they/won't they" vibe they've got going on. What more is there to it once they actually (likely inevitably) wind up together? Maybe the writers themselves will be dumbstruck and stuff in some more interesting elements that either make their interaction interesting for once or drive them apart.
That's kind of why most sequels suck, actually. The romanctic development that might have been so interesting in the first move suddenly...isn't...in the sequel. Because they're together, the tension's gone, and you finally realize what a boring couple they are. Romance in storytelling is almost all about the "getting there" and less about the "having."
As for three more seasons, I'll maintain my optimism. I won't lose faith in the creators until they actually dissapoint me. And besides, even if the new seasons suck, the old ones were always good. If we have a 50/50 chance of getting an awesome new season vs a sucky new season, I'd rather go for it then have no new seasons at all.

Kataang started obvious. It started with the typical "he was boy, she was a girl, the girl made everything right and the boy brought fun into her life, etc. So when Toph came, I was hoping the show would take a turn. I was so wrong. After the chase, the blind bandit was forgotten. The rest of the episodes had little, or no positive interaction between Toph and Aang. And the small ammount of blushing Aang did at Toph 'tiny feet' comment was spoiled by him going lovey-dovey over Katara. Also, some of the episodes were unimaginably boring for me to watch, like : The Guru, the earth king, the northern air temples, the southern air temples, and the avatar state. So Mike and Bryan have dissappointed me many times before, and they don't seem to care much for the inteaction between characters other than Katara and Aang, and Zuko and Aang. And Roku and Aang and the guru and Aang. It's the only 'important interaction' in their minds, I'm sure. This makes some episodes very unrealistic. The reason I'm losing faith that the next season is worth the long wait is because I know that there will be many disappointments waiting for me. Not just the lack of taang, but the boring filler eppies, the occasional stupid puns and idiotic humor. I love ATLA and there are many good things about it, but it dissappoints a lot. I also think that seasons 3+ are uneccassary. Especially shipping-wise, seeing as it will be the same shipping problem it was, is, and probably will be.

Ahh boy, I take a sabbatical from this thread discussing shipping, I peek in and I see a bit of Kataang being roused up in the argument. You guys never cease to amaze me .As much as I dont mind a little interaction with those 2, they still have (although toned down) that clashy personality to them. Both have that mild bit of stubborness to them, Aang being pacifistic, Toph headstrong and a challenger. For them to have anything beyond platonic, they have to put this two personalities aside and commune more to a common one. And dont think I am dashing your hopes I am just saying. ^_^

^ True, but I doubt they'll ever do that. My taangian hopes are fading away, but that's what fanfiction is for. The sad part that some fics turn out to be as disappointing as the show, others are even better. Even after ATLA ends, I will continue to beleive in what I think was the best thing to happen, not what did happen. (unless what I think what happened was the best.)

Taang fanfiction is some of the best. Kataang doesn't need fanfiction since its all the way canon and about everything possible for Kataang has happened.
Aang and Tophs personalities clash, which makes their realationship interesting. Yet their pasts are very similar, which gives them both to relate too.
Also, Aang was Toph's first real friend which gives them an actual relationship.

Sorry, Power. Really.

Uh oh. Maybe we should talk about something else. What Taang fanfictions did you guys like? Sorry, Power. Really. Huh? I didn't know we were offending anyone. All anyone said was that they found Kataang borings and several saw little reason for a continuation beyond season three. No one made insulting comments or accusations.
