I would have said it is a possible pairing. And you'd have to click on all the links to see what needed to be updated. Basically any fan vids on Youtube are links that no longer work since Viacom decided to be a *insert obscenity here*

Sorry Amira I didn't know you wanted to keep what I was saying to you private. I prefer to open up the debates for multiple people to come in with multiple points of view if I think it's a good topic. Seemed a shame, considering how much time I spent writing that, for only one person to see it, neh?
Anyhoo...there aren't any characters I dislike. I tend to look at them all from a narrative point of view, so even if I don't like their personality I appriciate them as characters.
Mai and Ty Lee, I think, are fine in their current position. Yet I can't imagine them really becoming anything else without a drastic change in their characters. Right now they work as a pair: their personalities are intentionally designed to oppose one another. That shows that they were not created so much as individual constructs, but more as a pair. They were likely created together, always intended to be together, with less thought for individual stroylines. Right now, they are walking sterotypes and archetypes, whose only purposes are flashy fighting scenes and a few laughs. Therefore, imagining them progressing into, y'know, actual characters, seems a bit startling really.

yeah that might've been better wording. it was basically thought up really quickly though. i think there's a way to edit it if you have an account there. ahh that's probably a good reason why i wouldn't know which ones work. i'm usually on a comp. w/ no ability to watch AMVs recently.
yeah yiceman. those two always seemed like a pair to me. i'm not sure i could imagine them not being a pair.

All have their place in the story but that doesn't mean I can't not like them.

THe thing about characters are that they're made differently so that different people will have different opinions on them. If everyone didn't have different opinions on them there'd be nothing to debate, would there?

No, I just would've liked a head's up. Especially when it's about such a fan favorite and my dislike.

I agree with you; Mai and Ty Lee have always seemed like a packaged deal from the minute they were introduced as Azula's cronies. Their vastly different personalities really help add to their dual-roles of comic reliefs and complements to Azula... but I don't think they're going to stay the way they are for long. Since they've been introduced to us, I can't help but wonder how the two became friends with each other in the first place; not friends simply through association with Azula, but friends though a sincere like of one another. They seem so different, almost too different to be genuine friends with each other, just judging from their current personalities. I think that season three will bring a lot of change for Ty Lee and Mai, and I think a lot of that change will be brought to light through each other... like, we may find out that Ty Lee is actually an insecure girl terrified by Azula (a persona contrary to her usual upbeat, peppy self) through some unexpected acts of compassion by Mai (contrary to her generally apathetic demeanor). Mike and Bryan said at PMX that there's supposed to be a lot of new info about Mai and Ty Lee... maybe this is the way it'll be unveiled? But anyway, yeah, I completely agree with you on this, yice: imagining both or either characters embarking on their own stories would be pretty shocking - you can't imagine one without the other!

I don't really have anything to add to the conversation right now. Just wanted to get 1 last post in before they make the new thread ;D lol
Right now the only character I don't really like is Mai, mostly because of the situation involving her brother. If they give us more insight into her character in S3, then I *might* change my mind.

Whose going to make the new war room? You know for a general, I never made one Zutara war room in my life, lol! imagining both or either characters embarking on their own stories would be pretty shocking - you can't imagine one without the other! Their like the infamous pair: Lo and Lee. Different personalities but always together. Like peanut butter and jelly, their character development may be intertwined.

You should do it then, FG. The next one is 61. LXI. And speaking of Li and Lo, I got the volume two, book two DVD today. It has episode commentary on it for The Blind Bandit and The Chase. Mike DiMartino was one of the commentators on The Chase and he "revealed" that Li and Lo were the ones driving the tank train. lol

o.O They could drive still? Watch out ostrichhorses, 80 year old twins might run you over, lol.
I wonder how their Firebending matches to say Iroh's, firebending? To train Azula. And they must be highly skilled and they may also be able to bend lightening since they were teaching her the form and the technique as well.
---- Cool. I'd love to make it! So when should we? In page 101 or now...

Now would prolly be fine. I thik you have to copy and paste all the stuff from the first page right?
And yeah, Li and Lo can drive. lol Mike said that since you can never atually see who drives the tank, and someone *has* to be, they just say Li and Lo are doing it. lol He was talking about picturing them behind the wheel with their goggles... XD
Lol He also joked that during the three way zuko/azula/aang fight, sine zuko's emuhorse has run off, it is off fighting one of the mongoose lizards offscreen. XD

Are there any special announcements I have to make? Other than that I think I'm good to go.
lol, I'm guessing Mai and Ty Lee were a little busy trying to fend off Zuko's ostrichhorse from their mongoose lizards. Care to talk about this more in the new warroom?
